situation that needs to be solved.

okay so two days ago i did my injection(of test cyp. but it doesn't really matter to this topic).

okay so when i inserted the needle in my delts i noticed a jamming noise. kind of like a stuck feeling, coudln't go deeper....when i pulled out i noticed that the needle itself was just alittle bit short(mabye a few micrometers or something like that). i just noticed that the tip of the needle was (i had to take a closer look) alittle slightly short.

so i'm guessing that some slight part of the tip of the needle chipped and is stuck in my delt. don't get the wrong impression.....only probably a micro/decimal part of the the TIP of the needle probably is stuck in my delt. so i'm guessing.....should i leave it that way or should i go to the docs to get it removed? has this happened to anybody before?

you sure this isnt in your head? Chances are this couldnt happen, also how would you hear the micrometer snap off. But I would still go to the doc to be sure, good luck! Let us know what happens as Im intrested if this can happen. Explain to him you give yourself b12 injections.

I am in the medical community, and my opinion on this matter would be to grab the "broken" needle and grab a new one. Put the two togather under a magnifying glass and compare...twist them around and look all around. Then If you truly feel that part of the tip broke off go see a doctor, and I would bring that needle and a packages one for him to check out. Go from there.

yeah about that...

who knows...it might be or might not be in my head. but i did compare the needle with another needle and i did see a very(under great observation) slight difference in the tip. but i'll see for a few days. if the soreness(do to the injections) does not go away and i get a fever, then the part of the tip that is stuck in my delt is most likely the culprit.

question regarding escuses...

how can i explain my doc i gave myself b12 injections if i was using a 3ml syringe and a 23 gauge needle? would he still believe that?

And like he's gonna know if you tell him you used a 25g pin on a 1 cc dart for an IM injection.

I highly doubt you broke off the pin. You probably hit some scar tissue and blunted/dulled the pin, thus making it shorter. It happens quite often to me when I hit scar tissue.

Even if you had a teeny-tiny piece of pin in your flesh, you will be fine. Look at the men that get hit with schrapnel in a war and live perfect lives with a little metal in their legs! :shoot4:

people leave bullets in themselves i dont think that a micrometer of a hypodermic needle will be a big issue

well said and your probablly right about dulling the point , unless you get infection i wouldnt worry too much .

yeah i probably just dulled the tip of the pin so therefore making it a teensy weensy shorter. yeah i basically didn't have any fevers or anything so i guess it's no biggie.

thanx for all your input guys.

you guys kick ass. meanwhile i highly recommend learning brazilian jiu-jitsu to kick ass(sorry i'm a finatic).

If i were you i'd go to the doctor and get an x-ray.
The x-ray will show if anything metallic is in there.

Say you injured your shoulder and you had been taking cortisone injections and the pain hasn't gone yet/feels weird.
Better safe than sorry.

If it's in him it's the sharp end and it should be removed . I stepped on a soewing pin as a teenager and it broke. I didn't know tilll years later.

I would go to the doc and tell him it was Vitamin E and the pin broke.
