Smoking... Straight answers

Quick question and I know it is an old tired one but I feel my situation is unique... You see I smoke know more than just one pack of cigs a week. I by a pack on fridays everytime I get paid. So what I want to know is, in your alls opinion is that slowing or hurting my gains??

Thanks

It hurt my work capacity more than my actual gains. At least that is what i think. Markus Ruhl is a big smoker from what i understand. It is a bad habit and one you should break, but that after workout cigarette i still remember fondly, lol.

If the smoking kills you or even puts you in the hospital for a while, then your gains will all go to shit.

I've got asthma and smoking would without a doubt set me back, but my situation is more extreme than that of many others.

It hurt my gains as well. Markus Ruhl smokes, man that would be funny looking. He's a monster.

Typing this while lighting a cigarette...trying very hard to remember my biology lessons on free radicals and their effects....

Smoking depletes anti-oxidants like vitamin-C...no matter how much vitamin-C you take in consuming normal food your body cannot benefit from it fully. This depletion of anti-oxicants is bad for growth. Can't remember the exact why...smoking may also affect memory ... ;)

Its bad, its disgusting and its the only bad habbit I can not seem to be able to give up. If you just smoke two packs a week...get out before its to late. I started with one pack every two weeks...I am now up to one pack a day.

Its bad for training, recovery and everything bro. There are plenty researches on this so to a search on pubmed.

Smoking makes your body unable to process oxygen as efficiently... how does this not negatively impact your training at least in some what?

Exactly, it would affect my training in the short term. Short term problem = long term problem when its consistently, a problem.

20 rep squats after a smoke? No thanks.

just switch to swedish snus and all your lung related problems are gone. Great nicotine kick and even icehockey players and other athlets take it.

drop the cigs they'll kill ya... smoke the herb instead way better focus on lifts at least for me......

nice...if i smoked it woudl be bud. No more cigs. I used to but kciked the habbit. I don't smoke at all know.

been a smoker for four years...still making pretty good gains naturally (never juiced yet). But I guess if what you guys are saying is true, I should really quit because I'd make great gains then. I don't think it really effects your strenght, but it's definately effected my cardio and high reps with very intensive lifts (squat mostly). Just my experience.
