So I got a script for Growth(HGH)... Next step insurance!?!

Ok. My wife is disabled due to disease called "Fibromyalgia". Much to my surprise our doctor prescribed her HGH! lol, I couldn't believe it.

Only problem, is that the doctor said it may be difficult getting the insurance company to pay for it, but that he would assist us in working with them.

Anyone here have a script for GH? How did you get your insurance to pay for it? Any other alternatives? My doctor said it might cost us roughly 6k per month for treatment without insurance (he wants her todo 1/2 a vial of Somatropin per day).

I am up for paying out the cash to see if it works, and even continue it in the case that it works.

How did you get your insurance to pay for it?

Is there a cheaper way to buy it legaly? (instead of black market)

Thanks

bump again .........my mom has this ......we have good coverage up here in Canada .I know she is taking a script for this condition.....It is not Gh I know that as fact.
What meds is she on at the moment??????
I,ll find out more tomorrow as to what was prescribed ....hope there are some answers for you here .

Bro your Dr is going to have to show medical proof for her needing it, if they deny you appeal it. You have to keep after them to get it and they need to answer it within 30 days don't let them give you the run around. This applys to California, if your in California my wife said she'll get you the address to the Insurance Commissioner. This is what she said would be the way to do it.

Have your Dr submit a summary, proof of medical history, and any documentation showing just cause for the medication. At the bottom of the letter it should show that a copy has been mailed to you. If they see you've recieved a copy they tend to work a bit quicker.

I'm going to my Dr for blood work to see if I can get some HGH myself.

Yes. We are in Cali.

I have the script right here, just worried to fill the prescription before I know it will be covered.

I would appreciate that info on the commisioner very much.

Thank You

The insurance companies make you jump through hoops to get the Hgh covered. All the time, they ask for test results that can not be obtained unless you are part of a medical study and being treated by a large hospital with the right equipment to test. Believe me, I tried, my Endo. who was willing to help me get it, could not order or complete the Insurance requirements for Hgh approval. This is how they fuck you.

If you pay for it they won't reinburse you. I'll have my wife get the addy for you.

Have your Dr submit the paper work and get a predetermination. I don't know what pharmacy you use, but the sav-ons I go to kept on the insurance and the Dr until they paid for my testosterone.

Nice bro, if you can get them to pay for it. If your wife works either federal or county jobs it should be covered by SISC. You said you were in Cali right.

I forgot to say, if you have the scrip in hand, thats the easy part. Call up your insurance company and ask for the pre-authorization department for injectables. Ask them what is the criteria for Hgh approval and what medical documentation is needed. Take it from there. Also ask if they have a Hgh formulary, meaning they will only pay for a specific type of Hgh if approved. You will also have to prove that you have a pituitary disorder.

CAT Scan screening will have to be done and submitted and a final report from the radiologist. Once you have all the paperwork in hand. You submit them, then they take your file to there medical department for a panel review. This is were 95% of the time people loose especially adults. Children its a different story. Don't forget blood work. 2 different types of IGF-1 testing to see if there is a problem. IGF-1 & IGFBP-3. Lets not forget the Stim Test Agent #1, that no one will be able to get. They will ask for the peak values and units from this test. If you do not provide it, "REJECTED". This is how they offer the Hgh to you but reject just about everyone because of the cost involved. Good Luck. I HOPE YOU GET IT. If you do, let us know what insurance policy you have and I will join tomorrow....LOL

I talked to my doctor. He said that he gets lots of partialy unused kits from his patients when they are done with treatment. He is going to save them all for my wife, until we get this insurance thing settled. Nice guy!
