Squat video (failed)

yeah, loooking closer he didn't go low!
That's why i couldn't be a judge when it comes to friends lifting. :wink2:

some federations are overly strict on rule interpretations. the rule says you only have to break parallel. that squat was an inch or so below parallel. his 280k was well below parallel.

there are politics in pling just like any other sport. squat depth is an issue from fed to fed.

Checked, it was IPF rules.

well, i may say that the judges were friends from the direct oponent of this squatter. This was the last lift also.

I'm not aware of all the IPF rules, and this is one i'm not sure about it... After talked some guys that use to compete in IPF that said that they use to compare the knee along with the iliac crest.

It is not a deep ass to grass squat, but if the rules are only toward to only break this limit, it is right were this guy hit. The judges then apparently used that tiny doubt against it.

thks for the vids PB

PB, any special reason for the guys at WPO use a wide stance? A great number of lifters use it in the squat and in the DL.
You guys just put more efford in training the adductors, or just use these kind of lifts in competition?

We don't use mutch wide stances. Personally I have a stronger sumo DL than conventional, but I always train with conventional, as most of the guys I know.

the wider stance gives a shorter range of motion and envolves more muscle groups. however it takes a lot of flexability in the groin to hit depth. i pull conv and sumo and squat with both stances in training.

loui simmons revolutionalized squatting just as bill crawford revolutionalized benching. check out some west side stuff from loui on squatting. metal militia stuff for benching.

do they have rules regarding when to begin and when to rack? if it the first guy the link goes to, he may have not waitined for the start signal or the signal to rack.looks as if he started on his opwn and racked to soon.....just my .02...the usapl gives you start and rack commands...i dont know about the ipf, but i believe they follow the same format...
