Squats, Deads??

ok currently i'm doing Squats and Dead on an every other week program. weeks that i'm on deads i don't have squats and visa versa. any comments on this ? .. i NEED my legs to grow,,, and i like how Deads just make everything grow,,, should they both be hit EVERY week???? or leave it as it is? post opinion pls.
 
what does the rest of your routine look like?
I dont do both in the same week but different variations of each. for instance. if i squat monday, ill sub. rack pulls for DL's. wed.
or if I DL from the floor ill use good mornings or hack squat on leg day.
 
it depends on what your suat routine looks like
i pull after doing dynamic effort squats
sometime i pull a little heavier sometime i do speed pulls

dont see anything wrong with having a separate squat and a separate dead workout
 
I also do squats and deads every wk. Will be alternating pulling deads and dimel deads every other wk or some kind of rack work on deads...still doing dls weekly though as well as squats. I'm making GREAT gains. Gotta keep your diet in check 2. Pork out. :D
 
Leg day:

Squats: (ass to the GRASS) 2 sets warm up 135
set 1. 225x10
set 2. 245x10
set 3. 275x6-8

leg press. SLED: 3 working set 8-10 reps
leg extensions: 3 working sets 8-10 reps
leg curls: 3 working sets 8-10 reps
lunges: 3 working sets 8-10 reps





back day:
DL's set 1&2. warm up
set 3. 225x10
set 4. 335x10
set 5. 365x6-8

pull downs: 3 working sets of 8 controled reps
supinated: 1 set of 15
one arm pull downs 3 sets of 8-10
close grip 3 sets of 8-10
2 bicept excersises 3 sets each.
 
p.s..... can't do rack pulls !!! my gym doesn't have any closed racks !!! SUCKS !! ... and on days that i don't Squat,, i do Box Squats. days that i don't DL i do bent over rows.

Suggestions please.

not squats one week then box squats the next week? ... and i just feel like if i don't do deads on a back day that i haven't accomplished enough..... you know?
 
switch ur squat styles up like u said, box then reg squats. and y dont u go to a real gym where they have a cage like where i go. haha
 
cus that place is hella dirtayyyyy !!! ....... and other than the cage has shit for equipment ,,, and oh ,,,, will be going under within the year i will bet !! ... so you have fun losing your money.... hahahaha ... though my gym is kinda foofy ,, it gets the job done ,, just have to step over the style fags that are just there to talk!!

i would shut up and liftat your damn foofy gym but the dumbells are too damn light for me and i cant get motavated by all the damn foofs with there cell phones and jewlery on. so i will stay at my dirty but productive gym until i can.

you dont have to have a power rack to do rack pulls. heres what we pull off of.

there are several variations of dead exercises that you can rotate weekly.

i also noticed you only doing one posterior core movement per week. whats up with that? you wana bigger dead you gotta work that posterior core.

reverse hypers
glute ham raise
GMs
pull thrus
hyper extensions with weight/bands
45° hypers with weight/bands
dimel deads
sldl
etc...............

add some type of row in as well for upper back other than pull down/up

pullbig ,, sorry ,,, my close grips ARE rows ,, forgot to write that part of it! do i need to add more rows than that in my back day?
 
i squat and pull sldl all the time.that will put you in pain!!if i pull from the floor which i dont do very often i will not squat and vice versa.if i squat then pull it wont be from the floor.full out deads and squats take major effort!doing em same day back2back WOW thats a days work fo sure!

one upper back movement is enough. (rows, face pulls, etc....) but if you lack upper back strength and are getting rounded over on your deads then add another upper back movement to help strengthen upper back.

now thats what i like to hear ,, a good response... thanks pullbig,,, and no ,, not getting roundness till MAYBE the last few reps on the last set. by then i'm just tired.... i will be working at it...
