Stupid Newbie Asking For Help, Please?

I'm 33 and have been weight training on/off for around 5 years now. I am 5'7. Unfortunately I stopped going to the gym for around a year, drank too much beer and had a terrible diet - so piled on the weight. Doh!

However, for the past 8 months I have been completely dedicated to weight training, cardio and my diet. I have been hitting the weights 4 times a week (1 muscle group per day: chest + biceps, back + triceps, shoulders, legs) and haven't missed a session. I also do cardio 3-4 week first thing on the morning on an empty stomache. I have made some awesome gains, my personal trainer is amazed by my progress (he says it's due to muscle memory from before when I used to work out)

My diet is completely clean. No sugary snacks, drinks, coffee, alcohol, pizza's, etc.

8 months ago I was around 35% body fat and around 115kg. Over the past 8 months I have got down to around 20% body fat and I'm now 90kg. It's been a lot of hard work and I'm completely dedicated to finally building the body I want.

However, I made a stupid mistake and tried to cheat a little, thinking an AAS cycle would help me add more lean muscle and speed up the fat burning process.

My planned cycle was 500mg of Test Ethanate per week for 12 weeks, running armidex + HCG (500iu/week) through the cycle and then finally post cycle therapy (pct) with SERMS (Nolva/Clomid) starting two weeks after last test ethanate injection.

I'm now two weeks in (took second shot of test 3 days ago) and I'm worried that I have been stupid and started AAS to soon and that I should have waited to get down to at least 15% body fat.

Please could someone advise me what I should do?

Should I just carry on and complete the course? Or can I scrap the course now and run post cycle therapy (pct)?

If I kept running the course and keep my calories down and diet super clean would I still gain lean mass and burn the fat? i.e. would the lack of calories turn the above cycle in to a cutting cycle?

Please help me. I know I've been stupid rushing in to this I'd just like to advice as to what I should do.

hello mate , im no expert on here .. but personally i dont think u shud scrap ur course already .. i dont think there would be any need for a post cycle therapy (pct) after only 3 shots . im also on a test e cycle at the moment but im doin teh opposite . im eating like mad trying to get bigger and stronger .. i dont think test e is the right choice for you if ur keeping your calories low ? i was under the impression that u must eat eat and eat whilst on a cycle like this .. however like i say you should prob wait tll some1 more experianced answers here for u .. just my 2 pence worth ;)

..and i say stick to your original goal and continue to cut naturally..your natty test is being turned off if it s not already off..but it will comeback....test or any aas will thrive in a calorie rich enviroment..you really need to be really big to go into a deficit....patience..

i would have to know how much muscle you have underneath 20% BF before I made a suggestion. You weigh right around 200lbs at 5'7", so I would assume you're pretty thick... got any pics. Might make a suggestion easier.

Agreed. Throw up a pic or two and lets see what your working with at this point. Depending on how you look I could suggest going either way at this point (ending or keep going), especially since it seems that your pretty dedicated.
 
Thanks for spending the time to help me. I've attached some pics. Two of them were from around 8 months ago before I started training. Please be gentle... LOL.
 
Damn man u did great work in 8 months! Goota be proud of that. You have a nice build with some quailty muscle on your shoulders and chest and arms. I would suggest to stay on your cycle but eat clean. U can eat 4k calories a day but stay away from fats and sugars. I personally think u can get good result from the test. Your not fat by any means but I can see a couple ares u probably wanna tighten up. I say good luck and I hope the best for you.
And I'm know expert on diet since I eat everything in sight and never gain fat but I'm sure the diet section could be very helpful for you if u need assistance with your diet.
 
Thanks for that. I can't believe I stopped training for so long and put on so much weight. After all that time away from the gym I realised the hardest part was simply getting my arse there in the first place. After that it's fun! I'm determined to get my body how I want it.

I'm still not sure whether I'm going to continue the course or not. I'll wait for some more feedback. I really want to keep it going because I'm determined and know I won't miss a session in the gym or go back to old bad eating habits.
 
My vote is go for it. since its just test its no biggie it will help you keep that hard earned muscle while dieting. plus you can go longer in the gym and burn more cals.
 
Thanks again for the info. I'll follow the cycle through to the end. I have to say I can't feel anything yet, but I'm only two weeks in to the ethanate. I guess I should start to feel things around the 4-5 week mark?

yes.

and I agree with Oak now that Ive seen your pics. I figured that was the case.

Just keep the diet in check and because of the muscle gain you'll actually lose fat quicker being on a cycle (again, drugs don't make you lose fat, just adding that muscle will help increase the meto). And don't over do it on cardio. Not saying don't do it, but keep it light. 3mph on a treadmill at a slight incline for no more than 30-40 mins in the am if you can. And lift heavy. None of this high rep low weight garbage. the key here is nutrition. Nothing else.

to be honest i wouldn't have chosen enanthate because enanthate often leads to a lot of water retention and bloating, the opposite of the look you seem to want.

Should have gone for propionate IMO, very little to zero water retention

this is a huge misconception. Poor diet and water intake contribute to 95% of water retention... not the hormone.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't gotten more responses. I guess the real experts on this board do not have much experience with being overweight.

I am by no means an expert, but a couple of years ago I did my first cycle (Test E, 500 mg/wk) and was at about 19% BF. I did not eat a lot more than I do off-cycle, maybe an extra 300-400 calories of protein per day. At the end of the 10 week cycle, I lost 7.8 lbs (3.5 kg) of fat and gained 5.9 lbs (2.7 kg) of muscle (measured with my Omron body composition scale).

By the way, I was 40 yrs old when I did that cycle. I think if you keep going on this cycle, with a sensible diet that is high in protein, you'll be satisfied with the results.
 
I agree about the water weight as well.... on prop guys tend to be cutting and watch their diet better so as not to take on the water weight.I say go for it... then don't do a second cycle until you've surpassed the end condition of the first cycle. Nice results for 8 months back natty!
 
Hey Guys. Thanks for all the positive feedback, it's very encouraging. I'm 3 weeks in now and I'm starting to feel something... My pumps at the gym are getting better and I'm pushing much more weight now.

I did legs on Saturday and squatted my highest ever, 150kg! For me, that's huge. 8 months ago I could hardly squat 80kg properly.

I'm making sure my diet is absolutely solid. I like to do my cardio first thing on a morning on an empty stomache, I then don't eat anything for an hour or two later.

Then I just pile in the protein through the afternoon and after my weights work out.
I'm making sure my diet is balanced with fats, carbs, etc.

I'm also taking a good vitamin suppliment, thyroid suppliment (not t3/t4, kelp, etc.)
