Does anyone know y i have crazy sugar cravings at night? i mean its to the point that i shoot out of bed n go to the pantry n get something sweet and eat it with out a 2nd thought. is there a way to stop this behavior?

switch to something sweet but high in protein. imo hunger pangs aren't unusual, you just gotta be smart about it. maybe eat some greek yogurt with some added sweet n low for sweetness. add fruit or a little bit of jam to make it tastier.

just be creative and stay away from the calorie filled sweets. the easiest thing is to just not have them in your home. it'll help get everyone else healthier too.

I just don't keep sweets in the house.

x2 I used to have this REALLY bad. I would get up and eat everything that had sugar in it in the middle of the night. I keep nothing but healthy food and have a protein shake ready to chug when I wake up in the middle of the night.

The body craves what it feels it is missing, the body interprets a lack of sugar, and other high carb foods, as an actual nutritional deficiency.
Like for example, chocolate cravings could mean your body wants more magnisium.

Same reason why when on a low carb diet, yoru body craves carbs so much.

To help u with the cravings make your last meal high in fiber, drink plenty of water to reduce feeling hungry, u can eat fruits if u really have to have something sweet, fruits have sugar, but it's natural sugar, and the soluble fiber they have won't make your blood sugar levels drop during the night.

and of course, "Don't keep any unhealthy sweet treats in the house", if u don't have access to it, u probably won't crave it as much :)

I agree with most; don't keep sweets in the house.

Have a protein shake loaded with splenda, unless you object to them, as some do.

Shoot no sugar whipping cream straight in your mouth.

Basically, do whatever you gotta in the least harmful way.

I've eaten low carb pretty consistently for almost 10 years and when I do want a carb treat I usually eat it before bed.

That way I can sleep through the insulin spike and won't get cravings and go on a real carb binge...

It's pretty much harm reduction as everyone will slip and we all wanna live a little...

most helpful thing ive ever heard regarding this issue, protein shake with splenda, damn y dint i think of that lol :mexican:

Also, make it thick by putting in less liquid, stick it in the freezer and you've made yourself a tasty ice cream dessert. But Mrs P. is bang on the money! Your body is missing nutrients. Your diet needs readjusting somewhere. And eating sugar does make you crave sugar, so do look into your daily diet.

I have the same problem but lately what I have been doing Is just making a vanilla protein shake ready to make and I'll chug it instead of eating garbage

Everyone has good advice but like every protein bar made is civered in chocolate. Maybe try that or Sludge: protein powder mixed with peanut butter frozen. Its in the recipe section.

After hearing about it on this thread for the first time I made Sludge...

Very nicey!

2 scoops protein powder
2 scoops milk, and 2 water
1 scoop peanuts (or 2 tablespoons peanut butter)
3 splenda
+mix well
+stick in the fridge for an hour

WOW
