Test Cycle and FireFighter School?

For the people asking if they test, no they don't. I already am hired at a fire department and they paid my way into school. All drug test/physicals/ect... have been done.

The only thing I am concerned about is when i'm in full gear overheated I might get too aggravated, panic, and freak out. Sometimes being super hot in that gear makes me annoyed without being on test.

I think u lnow the answer to that brother. Its a high intensity high stress high temperature environment. I was over seas and when your on a mission and you have on all your gear your plates weapon and allnur shit it gets hot as hell
imagine how much hotter its going to get in your firesuit when u have to be im thatvshit for hours at a time during training. Come on if u dont think its going to get hot and you not get irritated then your fooling yourself plain and simple. Your a smart guy and this question i think has been mauled over in your braim a few times. I have not met a dumb firefigter yet.

For what it's worth I went through FF Academy while OFF gear and on a cutting/carb cycling diet. Granted it might have been easier while on gear, nothing we did was anywhere near as hard as I have pushed myself in the gym. As for the poster that said "use Clen". I would advise against it. It WILL make your cardio better but if your blood pressure registers high before any live burn event you will not be aloud to participate... that will fail you where I'm from.

Personally, I wouldn't risk it. Test may be beneficial but you never know. The Academy will be COMPLETELY different from any sort of PT/exercise you've ever done. Once those turnouts go on your body with a 30lb+ bottle on your back, a set of irons, and 2 high rise packs over your shoulders while you climb 8 stories... it's a whole different world that your body has to adapt to. Adding in steroids may skyrocket your blood pressure or overheat you - and trust me - easy to do in turnouts (you can sweat all day but your sweat won't evaporate and cool you off with that moisture barrier).

95% of the fitness is LL - Legs & Lungs. The other 5% is functional strength, lifting someone up out of a window during the Denver Drill (fun stuff) or being able to hold a heavy circular saw for an extended period. None of this may even benefit from AAS. Anyways, let me know how it goes and what you decide. Just my 2 cents from my experience. Take care and good luck!
