Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) – What’s the best method?

HRT for life
TRT – What’s the best method?

I started my own HRT-TRT with Chip and the Maximus group one month ago. My hat's off to Chip as his service is exceptional.

I chose to go the troche route to avoid the larger needles when it came to administering my testosterone (please keep the pussy comments to a minimum – lol).

There seems to be considerable discussion about just how much testosterone is absorbed when taking it orally (troche). I have heard as low as 30% and as high as 70%.

Also, there seems to be a growing number of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) users administering their T through sub-q injections as opposed to IM. Anyone here using sub-q? Its just easier to picture a lifetime of the slin pins as opposed to large gauges.

I’d be interested in hearing from those guys on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) what’s working best for you.

Honestly, using a 1" 25g pin isn't that much different to me than my HCG injections using a 29g 5/8". Not to mention an IM injection in glute or ventro glute is about as painless as you can get. If you give IM a shot I think you will be surprised how little of an issue it is. I barely even notice when the needle first goes in, after that it is completely painless. You are definitely on the right path with Chip, now stop being a pussy and just do IM:)

The "best way" is probably pretty individual, I know of guys that have had great results / feeling / bloods with the gel, others that only work well with shots. I'd say if your happy with what your using, feel good and normal and you peronally like the cost/benefit then stick with it, you could always try shots for 2-3 months and compare.

I've considered the every other day option via sub-q but I haven't managed to get around to that experiment yet.

I know that I could get more stable blood levels. The only reason I haven't tested the sub-q method yet is b/c I've been so damn happy with my current feeling on the once a week IM protocol that I kind of think "why mess with a good thing."

Of course, as a scientist, I know at some point in the future, I'll give the sub-q option a go for comparative purposes.

Now, I am very interested in the oral/troche administration.

I've only read about the use of Andriol as a means of oral administration. Anadriol is testosterone undecanoate in a gel cap that is non-methylated and absorb via the lymphatic system so there is no hepatic stress.

Now, Andriol is not FDA approved but that would be an option I'd be interested in checking out. Seems daily administration would be best for managing consistent blood levels.

Maybe some of our friends in Canada would have this option available to them.

Regards.

TRANSCEND2007....

Just dropped you an email. Guys, it is really exciting to me to see the way that our "fraternity" all wearing the same "colors" is here to jump in and help each other. Not pointing at CASHOUT for not waiving the flag, I''m just stating how great this is really becoming. CASHOUT, I'm not sure if any/many/and certainly I did not know you were a scientist. It's neat to know and definitely offers another dimension of knowledge and experience that we can all use to help each other in our fraternal quest for overall well being. Hope you guys had a good weekend!

Yup, I'm a full-fledged egg-headed academic - PhD, full faculty member at a major state university in the Southeastern United States.

That's why I am always reading these studies. It's what I do. I actually enjoy it.

Of course, when I meet people and they ask me what I do, they never believe me when I tell them. I always get "I would have guessed you were an athlete or something."

Regards.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Does anyone have experience with sub-q injections or oral testosterone (troche)?

I have read that the sub-q T injections are becoming the standard of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in parts of Canada. The easy of adminstration could help move testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) further into the mainstream.

"Best" is a broad term.

Cost? - Injections
Ease of use? - Pellet implants
Efficacy? - Injections
