The diet is more expensive than the AAS!

Anyone have any advice on how to buy in bulk or save money? Ridiculous

I'm not sure what the prices at places like sams club or costco is for steak and chicken, but I will usually wait for chicken to go on sale at my local stores for around $1.49 a pound and just buy a ton of it. Same with steak/rice and eggs. Places like sams club and costco might sell some of these in bulk but I know you have to pay and annual fee to shop at those places so i'm not sure if it ends up equaling out or not.

I wait for chicken/turkey/fish to go on sale then buy the entire store and pack it into my freezers (I have 2 large chest freezers, plus the small freezer on my fridge). For carbs I live off oats and brown rice, which I buy in bulk at the wholesale store (~50Lbs of each at a time). Fats...fuck ton of almonds, from the wholesale store again.

P.S. I live in Canada, so I try and drive into the USA and hit costco for meats as much as possible.

Thank you all this is great advice so far.

I love peanut butter, but hate nuts generally... what can I do for healthy fats in their place? Two tablespoons of olive oil a day?

As a caterer and the father of 5 kids, I buy in bulk! Sams club chicken is $1.66/lb all year long for boneless skinless breasts (case price). You can find deals at the grocery store, but I do'nt have time anymore for hunting around like that. The case is usually about 35lb so it just comes down to freezer space. Between what I eat and family added in, that 35lb lasts about 10days. BTW, this is not the chicken in the freezer section, this is in the chest displays in the styrofoam maxipad containers.

As for tuna, sams is not the place. you can load up at the grocery store way cheaper.

I spend some time sundays grilling a $hit load of chicken with a good generic seasoning I make. Then put 2 or 3 breasts in a ziplock and tos in freezer. Throughout the week I can grab 1 or 2 ziplocks and use them to make lunches or dinners for the family. Easy to slice into strips for fajitas, dice into stirfry veggies, or toss back on the grill w a little bbq sauce.

...but I digress. Sams for meat and protein pwdr, grocery store for canned proteins.

OMG, don't just eat grease. Do you like avocado? mash it with a little no sugar added salsa and put on your chicken. OR take some unrefined coconut oil and mix in with half the usual amount of peanut butter.

how about 1tbsp coconut oil, 1tsp peanut butter, and a squirt of sriracha sauce (or other chili paste or hot sauce, whatever). Use as a dip for your chicken or turkey breast.

.. I just hate it when people eat grease instead of make it tasty. Then again, I like to eat :)

either way you have to eat right? might as well eat the best so you can look your best even tho you might not have the best pocket, LOL! food gets more expensive by the week

I like your ideas bitter, I will incorporate them.

But guys, seriously wtf, what are your jobs? How do you afford all this? I have a full time job and can't even buy all this food lol AND I have a legit prescription for test cyp so I get it for like 18 bucks haha I still can't afford all this.

I agree with bitterdregs costco or sam's club is the way to go if you're in the US. College was so much easier to eat a lot with meal points that I didn't have to pay for damnn lol

cost? 1lb of chicken is $1.66, a 1lb bag of mixed veggies from freezer section, $0.99. If I split that into 2meals, that cost me about $1.33 per meal. way cheaper than fast food.

It's really the up front cost that hurts. Most people spread the pain. I budget to buy in bulk instead of more stead state purchasing. But yeah, meat is expensive. and beef getting way worse.

I'm in the middle class pay grade and don't make a butt load of money, but make enough. I just budget it into my expenses. Then again, I also don't drink and maybe eat out once a month, so that's some cost savings right there.

P.S. Take up hunting, after the cost of the gun/bow, the cost of tags & license(s) vs. the amount of meat you get is waaaay cheaper then the store if you can butcher it yourself.

dude its not as bad as you think you just need to find sales and shop smart. if you really cant afford it you just need to limit your options like during bulking season go with chicken thighs cheaper and taste better, i get like a 5 dozen egg thing for like 8$ rice you can buy a fat bag for pretty cheap. if you need vitamins and you cant afford vegies get a crappy multi its not the best but its something. but right there you have eggs chicken and rice. i also get whole wheat spaghetti at $1 a box at my local safeway when its on sale and if sauce is too much i use olive oil and garlic powder. take a day and go through the isles lol
