Thoughts on keeping gains at different amounts of Test?

So I have read what seems to be a million articles and threads about your first and sometimes second cycle being just Test. I have equally read the same amount on the recommended dose being between 400 and 600mgs/ week for 12 weeks. The one thing I was thinking about today was about keeping the gains you make from different amounts due from more shut down at higher doses. Do you think for a first cycle it would be beneficial to stay around 400mgs so there will be less of a chance of bad shutdown after cycle resulting in less muscle retained? This being due partially to being a first time user and not a long time vet? I know the obvious first rebuttal to that is "you should do a cycle if you don't know what your doing anyways" which is true, but lets face it. There is a lot of things you learn as you do the cycles. especially since everyone's body reacts different to every substance.

Random thought I'm having at work. Discuss?

P.S. Sometimes I don't know if I over think shit too much...

shut down is more time wise than mg...you can suppress HPTA at a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose of 200mg pw.Suppression of HPTA is inevitable using AS.

Gains are usually best kept from your first cycle. I could be wrong but I don't think this has to do with how shut down you get, otherwise the generalization about most people being able to keep most of their gains from their first cycle wouldn't be true- since eeryone shuts down differently. I'd say go with 500mg & maximize those virgin gains. You'll thank yourself afterwards. Get a good pct in place and you'll be gtg regardless....

Good luck

Absolutly correct...

I dont know why people think that a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose of test or lower dose of Test isnt going to shut them down or partially shut them down.

I bet blood work would come back about the same for LH and FSH on either 200mg or 400mg of Test.

Low or basically no LH and FSH are indicators that your HPTA is shutdown...

You'll keep more gains by running a good PCT after your cycle and using Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) during your cycle.

i agree with these guys but would add that some types of gear tend to shut people down harder, especially tren and deca.

if so why dont people do strong first cycles?
im not really arguing with you, because my partner, his first cycle, was wow, i remeber test deca and eq and dbol, he kept a pretty decent amount, more than his other cycles, so basically what im saying is: i agree with your statement, but why dont people take advantage of thier first cycle? i understand the worries of side affects, but kinda get what im saying? :bash::bash:

I get what youre saying. There are several reasons

1. You will get fantastic results with just test
2. If you have a positive or negative response, you won't know which compound is to thank/blame
3. More gear doesn't always = more gains. Your first cycle should be spent learning about the lifestyle, sacrifices necessary to make gains, how to optimize your bodys response, etc... "Taking advantage" as you put it doesn't require running more compounds, but rather a more disciplined regimen with proper protocol & hard work
