Thumbs up for deadlifts

I did deadlifts for the first time yesterday and I absolutely love them. I had a guy at the gym show me proper form and he watched one of my sets and corrected any mistakes I made. Awesome, my new found love in the gym!!!! Not the guy, but the deadlifts..hahaha
 
Yeah, they are favorite exercise, the quest for 600 started last week. I just took about 10 weeks of deadlifting, came back and had only lost a few reps at 500, after a few weeks I am almost back to where i left off.
 
if san diego wasent on fire today i would have been able to do mine. i love deads i do them on sundays. it my sunday religion.

hey jcp2 600 is insane. i can do 500 for 1. but i dont like it cuz it kills me for the rest of the week.
 
I'm a HUGE fan of deads for so many reasons, but one of the biggies has to be the way that they seem to stimulate the biceps...perhaps not so much on their own, but they certainly pave the way for curls to be more effective.

Not really lol, ask b fold his numbers, and a few guys on here have some pretty insane lifts. And i still have a few months to work.
 
I did them Saturday and I am still feeling it Monday in my traps and back. Wow, I thought my back was pretty good before, now... watch the fuck out!!! I believe Goldberg shall be my nickname for my traps. Thanks everybody for pushing this lift on the board!

Thanks for the compliment, but I'm really nowhere near where I should be. I'm sure we both probably feel the same way about that.

Regular deadlifts?? I have never seen a girl do regular deads at the university gym i workout at. Then again, i never see anyone do regular deadlifts at my gym. I think im the only one, and i love em.

My X pulled 250 x 14 raw in a contest a couple years ago:)

Most of the women that I train do deadlifts once a week. Not heavy...but they do them.

well shit, I'm gonna start doing deadlifts!

thing is no one at my gym does them.... you just know some fuck is gonna come up and ask me what the hell i'm doing.... :rolleyes:

Just tried a few, and was wondering if there was anyway to make improvised wrist straps?
It's hard to hold onto the weight at times (my wrists are weak)

I like deads, but I don't think they work the traps?????
Deads work the legs and lower back. Why should it work the traps since the arms are extended during the motion. Shrugs or Chins work the traps.
