Timing of HGH injection - Food & Protein

I have a question.... I'm currently shooting 2iu's of HGH in the morning as soon as I wake, and another 2iu's right before bedtime...

I now read that you have to be careful what you eat and drink around the time of HGH injection as it can lead to diabetes...

My problem is that I take a CNP Pro-Peptide right before bedtime, and another one as soon as I wake up as I have been depleted of nutrients whilst sleeping - these shakes coincide with my HGH injections...

Anyone know whether it's just carbs that you have to lay off around the injection times - and am I ok digesting my shake around the same time as taking my HGH.

Oh, I am considering moving to one injection of 4iu's straight before bedtime now as I would like to cut up for a holiday and it seems after researching that for cutting up, one whack before bedtime is better for this.

I'm using Kigtropin btw...

Any help with this would be appreciated!

Hey,

I, personally have no experience with HGH but i'll be starting soon with my stash. Having documented as much as i could before i start, i saw others telling that:

1. You should eat as cleanly as possible.
2. Best timing is morning and afternoon. Shooting before bedtime is a no-no since in can suppress your own natural production of HGH (the small quantity you still produce).
3. As per dosages many say 4 IU is a good starting point divided in 2 IU in morning and 2 IU later in the day, since HGH has quite short half life.
4. As far as i've read protein shakes are ok as long as they are low carb.

Others that are more experienced please chime in because i'm also interested in this!

Cheers and good luck bro!

Can't help much with the hgh since I've no experience with it but your body does not deplete itself of nutrients during sleep. Eating before bed and immediately upon waking is not nearly as important as your total daily intake. If you're really worried about it time your shakes and food away from the hgh shots. The difference, if any, with your nutrient timing will be negligible.

Yes the simple answer to your question would be carbs. In terms of timing which was touched on by Andreid, that has been debated by guys / girls far more in the know that I am and you can find the threads here. Good arguments as well as document research has been provided for both sides in terms of taking it prior to bedtime or in the morning. I'll see if I can dig up the threads with supergirl and company etc., and I'll post them here. One would be hard pressed to dispute the information found in them. Very good reads. brb...

edit: Ok here is one, I can't find the other: http://www.steroidology.com/forum/anabolic-steroid-forum/4157-insulin-shot-timing-gh.html

Both are solid arguments, and a simple I was told "x" isn't acquitted enough to refute the arguments. In the end many run it different ways. Some prior to bed. Some split between bedtime and upon waking. Some upon waking and PWO. As of now until more research is conducted people will be hard pressed to say one way is better. The shutdown of your natural pulse at night isn't as simple as...well as that, as is mentioned in the above thread. One problem with HGH testing (for us), is the high cost and length of time on. I know at one point there was a guy testing different brands here, but it's just not as easily / widely accessed as say test. Which everyone and their grandmother are having bloods done, and are trying / researching different cycles etc. The info for HGH is harder to come by. People on all sides of the fence, as well as on top and underneath.

Thanks kaname, I'll have a good read of that link...

DocD, I'm not with you on your last entry.... your muscles require protein every 3/4 hours to feed them, recover them and help them grow. I take my morning shake to restart this important process again as soon as I wake. Surely this is just common practice with all hard training bodybuilders? I've done this for 25 years!

I don't think it matters considering the fact I haven't seen real Kigs in over two years....the last shit I saw trough a 6 after 10iu...severally under dosed. The likely hood of your GH being real is next to none....sorry man

I think the major point in Doc's post is that the difference between doing in your way and what he is suggesting would be minor. So as to be able to make timing your shots easier or less of a worry for you. The total daily caloric intake is more important.

Look at it this way. Some how amateur level to pro level bodybuilders are able to manage it, so that means you can to. They aren't on some magic eating schedule that gives them extra hours in the day.

On a side note though (just my opinion) it would be wise if you take a morning hit of HGH to not eat at least carbs immediately after taking it. I personally wait 1-2 hours (depending on my day) on either side of taking my HGH. Although I'm trying out the bed time shot which makes it easier, as I'm sleep on the other end, and all I have to do is make sure I don't eat for "x" amount of hours prior to taking the shot. I'm just worried about the whole diabetic thing. I'm guessing you already know but for those who might not. The body releases insulin during and after eating to basically process the food. When taking the HGH, it makes your body more resistant so to speak to the insulin, thus making your body release more insulin to complete the process. In the end you run the risk of becoming resistant to it due to the excess. I think that's how you explain that process but I might be wrong, as it's been a while since I've read about it, and I'm medically ignorant.

I'm not telling you to do anything you don't want to brother, just pointing out the fact that nutrient timing is a minor facet of the BIG picture here. Too many ppl focus on nutrient timing but lack the awareness to realize their total intake for the day may be lacking or they micromanage everything and become OCD about it. If that's you in your avi, than you've accomplished a great deal already and I don't mean to dismiss your accomplishments whatsoever. My point is the body does not need nutrients every 3-4hrs as commonly believed. If it is REQUIRED how would intermittent fasting or the warrior diet result in just as impressive gains as 6-8meals a day. I have some studies and a few posts I'll search for later tonight talking about the body's natural braking system, i.e. the ileal tract. Basically in a nutshell the ileal tract in your small intestine slows or speeds up metabolism and absorption of nutrients based on the volume of food intake in a given meal and based on what's in your stomach. A typical meal takes around 4-5hrs to digest, a larger meal takes even longer. At the end of the day all I'm arguing for is to do what's CONVENIENT for you. If you enjoy eating before bed and immediately upon waking, I'm no one to tell you otherwise. But if its not convenient and if its messing with your hgh cycle then there are other ways you can go about without having to worry about meal timing. Kaname nailed it with his post, the difference is minor not absolute.

Kaname What about if I workout at 8:30 pm and sleep at around 12:30 or 1 am I take my humalog at around 9:30pm.when should I take my second gh shot.my first will be as u suggested first thing in the mourning upon waking up. Pls I need an answer for this I've been reading a lot but with my timing I'm finding it hard to put it best way.

DocD... Thanks for clearing that up, I understand your point much clearer now and I thankyou for taking the time to explain that to me...

Yep, that is me in my avatar, taken 18 months ago on my 40th birthday... The missus challenged me to get in 'Mens Health' cover condition seeing as I haven't got the bollocks to don the briefs and get on stage - I'm glad she did, I trained like an animal for the whole year leading up to it :-)

So going back to my morning and nightime jabs - I take my first HGH at 06.30 literally as soon as I roll out of bed - I usually have my Pro-Peptide shake ten mins later - this is predominantly protein with 1 or 2 grams of carbs... I don't eat my porridge oats until approx 09.00... so if what Kaname says is right - this should be ok.... no carbs for over 2 hours from the jab....

As for the evening HGH jab, would it be prudent of me to whack my Pro-Peptide shake down my neck at say 10.00pm and then take my jab over an hour later....?

I'm currently cutting up so the last starchy carbs of the day are usually around 4.30pm - I have chicken and veg around 8.30pm.

I guess all I'm doing here is fine tuning what I do - but the price I pay for my GH - I want to get it nailed down!

Once again, thanks guys... some very informative and knowledgeable debate!

The fact you look like that at 40 is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Your commitment, dedication, and inspiration is lacking in many people. Congrats on accomplishing your goals and I'm sure the missus is more than ecstatic lol. Good luck with your training goals in the future brother, not that you can have many left lol!!

If you're using insulin (humalog) then best I can say is read that thread linked towards the top. I know very little about HGH timing, and even less about HGH timing w/ insulin. I don't want to have you all messed up. The only thing I've read was not take it before bedtime. Other than that read the thread linked up top and the others here (there's a couple), and / or ask around. If it's a script then of course just follow whatever the doctor told you.

Just for the record the two hour thing is what I do personally but it isn't required. I've seen everything between 1 hour to 2 hours. Some do 1 and some do 1 1/2. I just chose 2 hours as I was paranoid. As you mentioned the cost of it being so high, so I didn't want to waste, as well as the insulin resistant stuff. Just wanted to clear that up before someone else sees it and thinks I'm saying you have to wait two hours.

If your humalog shot is a smallish one (say 5 units) and you eat some complex carbs and protein before bed I would say you are ok to go to sleep 3 hours after humalog but you need to know your body and you may want to invest in a glucometer. The last thing you want to happen is to go to bed and go hypoglycemic - that's very dangerous.

I will have my protein carbs shake lets say at 10. At 11 I will eat a good meal of chicken and sweat potatoes.so can i take the gh shot at 1? Or should I place it somewhere where there is at least 3,4 hours no carbs intake?

Thanks for the praise DocD... I'm in the 'majority' of lads who love bodybuilding but don't have the cahoonas to step on stage...
When the missus threw down the gauntlet - even though I'd been lifting weights for 20 years, I'd never done a strict 'pre-contest' diet, never watched my water intake, never actually counted calories, protein grams etc before - I won't lie, it gave me a new lease of life...
Seriously, everyone should do a year of training and eating for an imaginary show, you'll learn so much about your body, your training, your strengths and weaknesses and your self discipline... how amateur lads manage to get themselves in contest condition I will never know. Early morning cardio, cooking all the meals, a day on a building site, an hour of weights, cram all the meals in, and get a good nights sleep - I tip my hat to you! I work in a gym, so I have it easy!

So, this morning I took my HGH shot at 06.20 and my Pro-Peptide shake (low carbs) at 07.15... I'm currently having my first proper carbs now at 09.30 (mountain sized bowl of porridge!) - I'm hoping this will be ok for me from now on....

Last night, I had my Pro-Peptide at 9.30pm and my HGH jab at 11.15pm (thanks DocD and Kaname for explaining the daily intake thing) - so I'm gonna run with this for a while until say 4 weeks out from my holiday where I'll move all 4iu's to the evening...

Good banter and discussion lads - always living and learning... oh and DocD - I find my training goals change year by year now... I'm more doing stuff I enjoy and won't get me injured, whereas a while ago it was all about how much weight I could get on the bar!

Best bit of advice I ever got... "Leave your ego at the gym door, on the way IN!"

I haven't the cahoonas either to step on stage in a man thong either haha. I know exactly what you mean though about how prepping for an imaginary show will teach you many things about your body. It takes a lot more dedication and discipline than anyone can imagine, it's not suited for everybody. Im still in that mindset of my training is how much plates I can put on the bar. Aesthetics are a secondary concern of mine, strength is always number one. I don't do it for ego or bragging rights though, I do it for myself. If you knew some of my history youd see I like pushing limits and putting myself through that temporary abuse to come back stronger faster and better. Like you I could care less about anyone else at my gym, I just throw my headphones on and will say hi to a few close ppl. Other than that please do not distract me, talk to me, interrupt me, or break my concentration in any way. Maybe my goals will change one day but for now I want at least a 4 plate squat, 5plate deadlift, and a 2 plate power clean lol.

Once again man, you are in phenomenal shape. You could be on the cover of men's health, maxim, flex or any other magazine you wish to be in. I do like your humbleness though just as much, you know what you're capable of and worth but don't feel the need to prove that or justify it to anyone but yourself and your wife!!

Thanks DocD, lovely words... :)

I agree with you about the gym being a social event for most people these days, some guys make a 45 minute workout last 3 hours!

Headphones in, AC/DC on, and zone in - that's the way I like it!

I had to laugh the other day, there was a huge guy on the bench press repping away with a shit load of rusty iron... a little squirt in a baggy XXL world gym vest walked behind the guy and as he went past - he let one rip and burst out laughing...

The guy, cool as you like, finished his set, stood up, wiped his brow, walked over to the little runt, and knocked him spark out...
When he came round a few seconds later, the guy yelled "Do not, ever again, put me off my set"...

I wish I had recorded it... pure class!

With regard to me easing off on how much I try and lift - it's not by choice... I loved lifting hard and heavy, but grade 4 arthritis in my elbow put a stop to that... any more than 250lb benching now, and my elbow joint will crumble! I've had to train clever since!

Good luck DocD - Happy training! :)
