I perfer trap day along with back day. Others say do it with shoulder day. Does it really make a damn difference. To my boys that tell me to do it on shoulder day I hope there are people that do it back day so you can all shut the f*ck up. I have guys from my gym on here thats why I said that!

really does not matter if you do them on shoulder day or back day or chest day. whatever feels good to you bro

I do them on back day. The key is not when to do them, the key is how you do them. Seems like most people in the gym load up 315 and start jumping around trying to get it to move. I believe that doing nice clean reps in the 15-20 range is best for traps. throwing 500 pounds on the smith machine and bouncing for 4 reps isn't doing shit.

I never really concentrate on just traps... I work them out hard enough when I do shoulders... They just come natural to me

I have pretty big traps naturally, if i do them though it is with shoulders, nothing i want to do less after a grueling back workout is traps. Shoulder routines are usually much easier on the body, so doing them after that is more appropriate for me.

smith machine?????????????why anyone would use the smith machine for anything is a wonder to me...and i consider traps as part of the shoulders since it attaches to the shoulder girdle if i am not mistaken...

i used to train like this:

chest,tris,shoulder
back and bis
deads
legs

that kept my push pull movements isolated, but i have found that once i got heavier in the lifts, forget it...

i do chest alone
tris and shoulders
deads alone
back and legs

with recoup time in between as in time off etc...

and nice to see you over here B fold

I think deads aren't good for anything but blowing out a disc. There are plenty of back excercises out there that can build your back and not put you at risk.

I know of more people fucking themselves up squatting than doing deads. Deads have strengthened my back, lower and upper, like nothing else imaginable. I will not say it doesn't happen, but i don't know anyone who blew a disk out doing deads. Jesus, i don't know what i would do if i couldn't dead, my purpose for living now is to break 600 by christmas.

Deadlifts aren't for the faint of heart, that's for sure.....

I used to do them with back.

Right now though, I do them with shoulders since I am training hamstrings with my back. I don't like to do traps on a day where I will already be hitting them hard with heavy rowing and also SLDLs. I rather put them on day where I will basically be training them on their on...
