Tricep Exercises

Smilee21

Exotic is Erotic...
I would really like to focus more on shaping my arms and work on bringing out my triceps.

Can you please help list some of the different exercises you do?

I prefer free weights and the cable machine, I have an injured shoulder/rotator cuff that kind of limits me right now.

I cannot do Dips unless their assisted and Push ups are a little too much for my right shoulder right now.

Thanks

Got nothin special for u bud. Other than dips could be the worst thing you can do if you have a shoulder injury.
That is straight from my (real athlete) and Sports Med Doctor

She is a Budette but I feel you and agree that dips + shoulder issues= more shoulder issues.

Stick to push downs and the rope pulls Smilee, remember to squeeze at the bottom and hold it for a second or two before repeating the motion.

Thank you Zeek. I will remember to sqeeze at the bottom and hold it for a second or two before repeating the motion.

Last night I did a variation of a Skull Crusher using the 45lb barbell and positioned my elbows a little higher above my head, while I raised my hands towards me, (my training partner C helped me with my form as I did it). Felt awkward bc it is a new exercise for me, but I did like it, seemed to work a lot more of my tricep, hits it differently than I am use too.

I like DB or cambered BB presses behind the head, but with the shoulder injury, probably like others said, stick to cable press downs switching up the handles until it heals.

I do this exercise on Tricep days however I do them as singles instead of rotating one from the other. I like these ones, they do not seem the bother my right shoulder. Thanks for attaching a demo for us to view.

Yur welcome, i do one at a time also. Use the other hand for support or to help so i dont end up eating a dumbell.

skull crushers, overhead extensions, pressdowns...these won't hurt your shoulders too much. The best are dips and close grip bench (but as you said, they can hurt the shoulder)

I love close grip bench press, if it is ok on your shoulder-flat, incline, or smith machine. Cable pushdowns are a close second. Right behind those, skull crushers with an EZ bar.
