Trouble with Inner Chest

Anyone have any suggestions on how to really develop the inner chest? Imo i think i have a pretty decent chest, but it seems like with my chest workouts i feel mainly my upper chest and middle chest being taxed the most. I really wanna get a thick inner chest, and lessen that gap inbetween my chest. My routine for inner chest consists of incline flys and pec-dec machine... been doing it for a few months now but im not really seeing any significant results. any suggestions ?

I believe pec shape is largely genetic. If you have large pecs but the 'inner chest' sucks, it's probably crap genetics. All you can really do is keep hitting them and see if it ever fills out.
 
most likely youve ben warped by looking through mags of BBers

you cant isolate a part of your pec so stop wasting time and just continue to build your chest through compund moves such as Incline and flat benches
 
I believe that after some time the inner part will fill out too, just make sure to push all the way through with your exercises as I feel that works the inners better then partials, if this is even possible that is. (The development of different areas of the chest)
 
Yup, CGbench is for tri's, it barely does anything for chest when you consider how much weight you can move compared to regular bench press.
 
Genetics definitely has the key role in body shape...but neutral grip DB press or cable crossovers might help a little. Actually now that I think about it, any move that requires your arms to go past the midpoint on your chest would work (one-arm stuff).

don't overtrain
drop pec deck machines...use DB flyes...it's better
concentrate on bench presses
eat big
lift big
rest a lot
and wait

mostly the people in the gym where I workout believe that the growth of their chest depends on the grip to the bar during bench presses....and yes..they even do CG incline and decline presses..
 
Close grip bench...haha...anyways, concentrate on really any of the flyes. Movements that bring the arms "IN" will concentrate on giving you some of that much needed cleavege!

care to explain why? just cause your arms are squashing your pecs during flyes etc doesn't mean you are contracting your inner pec. Infact you can't contract your inner pec, why? because you don't have an inner pec.

Its all one muscle

Exactly.

And no, that's not a beaver. It's a thing called a Tanuki.

For a huge chest, focus on the movements where you can move the most weight. Don't fool around with crappy isolations. Flat bench or incline bench, and weighted dips. Those are probably the best chest exercises around.

He never said anything about getting a huge chest. We called out the isolation movements because he wants to "focus on the inner part of his chest." Sure, kreationz, if you want a HUGE chest do the movements that Behemoth says, I have no argument with that. But if you want to FOCUS on the inner chest work with the flyes.
