Yesterday durring my first working set of squats i felt a sharp pain in my right glute. I had to cut my workout short, I felt around and the muscle feels a bit tight. I am going to give it a few days; hope i can do sldl's on friday.

Anyone have any advice or has had something similar happen?

hahahaha lol

Hey, pullinbig, i read in your log that you have aggrivated your groin durring squats, were you able to let it heal on its own and hit the prosterior later that week?

hey M69, try some stretches to relieve the muscle

lie flat on your back and bring your knee up towards your chest(leave the other leg flat), then pull the knee across towards the other side of your body

i will give that a try inked...

Man this whole thing has me stessed, hope (knock on wood) its nothing serious.

Thanks guys

I've done that before....I ended up tearing my hamstring (thought I just tweaked my glute). Take it easy until you are sure it's nothing serious.

In my case, it took almost a year before it was 100% again. Mine was not a full tear, just a partial tear. Within about six weeks, I was able to do very, very light SLDL's and could squat ok (10+ reps). However, heavy squats or STDL's were out for almost 6 months.

After six months, it just felt "tight" for a few more months and I could do just about everything as before....but I had to make sure to constantly monitor it and stop any set if it did not feel normal.

Good luck....

Nope...but I should have. Instead, I just listened to my body and didn't push it too hard.

Now that I think of it, I should have wrapped it tight in duck tape :)

update-

The muscle is feeling better but still not 100%,

I might give light box squats, or mabey light leg press this week, but that may just backfire and set me back even more.

I dont want to, but I may have to not do legs this week and not do any prosterior work on back day.

update, worked out legs yesterday and after my last warmup i felt the pain once again.

Tryed leg presses, but only got a few reps out before it was aggrivated again.

Ended up doing leg curls and leg extensions and ab\aductors afterward cause they dont bother me at all. I might consider going to a doctor and see whats up;
when you guys go to get check for a liftin related injury do you guys go to your usual doctor or a specialist.

thanks guys
