umbilical hernia behind the belly button

I have gotten a hernia can i still train until surgery which will be a couple weeks. And how long post surgery before I can do some squats? I will do i rep light squats till I have it repaired. Pretty upset over it. Had starting doing my reps with 400 for squats that's the best I'd reached for sets ever. Bought a nice thick neoprene abdominal band to wear for a while. I'll probably wear it indefinitely for squats from here out.

I used a 13mm power belt, but I trained right up until the surgery (PR'd my squat the day before going in because I knew I was about to throw my trianing off for a while) and then started back after two weeks. I can't vouch for neoprene, but a decent PL belt on tight enough to push on should keep everything in.

I think the recommended time was six weeks, but seriously, nothing's going anywhere once you push it hard against that 13mm of leather.

The thing that I thought was going to kill me was getting a sneezing fit a few days after the surgery.

Good luck!

Bought a pretty nice abdomen brace today and worked out with it. Just did bench it'll get it true test on squat day. Although I admit I probably won't go over 315 in fear of staining. I'm scared to death I'll make it worse. I just want to keep my present size and I'll be happy. I was wanting to enter a show in Sept obviously it's not happening now.

I have a hernia too in my belly button. The thing is, is I'm being laid off in July and losing my health ins. The doctor noticed it on routine check. He didn't seem real concerned about it. So whatever, I'll have to get it fixed at some point.

I just came here to post the same question...although I don't know the name of the hernia I have.

Went into the ER but since it wasn't an emergency they couldn't do any real tests. I have to go back in the morning during 'regular hours' (I live in Japan). It's midnight now, so I'll wait the 8 hours or so. I noticed it while in the shower. A little balloon like thing filled with water or something. Not sure if it happened that day or before since there wasn't any pain and only a little discomfort like indigestion or something.

Was wondering what surgery is like, how long off work you need to take, how long out of the gym you have to be, can you do HIIT instead of lifting etc.

This really does suck...I don't wear a belt but I'm guessing I'll have to start.

Hernia surgery used to be extensive and a big deal. Now days they do mostof them microscopic. It's a day surgery and your down a 2-8 weeks. If you're going to continue lifting until surgery you should look into a abdomen belt. And I always wear a belt when I squat. I'm waiting on a surgery date I should be receiving in the next few days. I'm not real happy about it.

Shitty deal man!! I had an umbilical hernia about 10 years ago, i cant remember exactly how long i was out to be honest. Now, i have a ventral hernia which is just above the belly button, surgery July 15, surgeon said 6 weeks off from lifting but well see how things go. Good luck with yours brotha!

Thanks bro I'm just planning in my head how not to loose a massive amountof gains. Got some Iigf1-lr3 I will be mega dosing post surgery. Debating on running s4 post surgery till a few weeks after to try and maintain a little better. We will see how things go. After your surgery did you ever feel 100% again? I don't want to give up my heavy squats.

Oh absolutely!! i was squatting and deadlifting eventually, up until this issue i was balls out on everything, you will be at 100%, just might take a couple months. Dont get to eager and start doing certain exercises too heavy too soon, you dont want to re injure that bro. Once you feel good and doc says you are slowly ease into those exercises.

To be honest even with the hernia i have now i can still squat heavy without issue or a belt up to 315, i cant however deadlift anything as the pressure on the abdomen is too much.

Are you on cycle or cruise right now?

On trt..just got through running igf1-lr3 and superdrol a week ago so it's pretty inconvenient timing.

Ya i hear that, im half way through a test/tren/mast blast. Not cool. Lol. The test should help though, and IGF as well, i remember eating to be a lil difficult for the first week or so due to the amount of bloat and whatnot the surgery caused. Even if you do lose a bit, muscle memory is a beautiful thing man.

How long before you were out of the hospital. My doc says I'm looking at a 3 to 5 day stay.

ETA: Is there a specific peptide combination that will help speed recovery of abdominal hernia type surgery? AAS of any kind in smaller doses (On TRT but would blast if there's a benefit while in the healing process).

I was out the same day, its only a few hrs total from the time you get in until you leave. 3-5 days for a hernia repair?!!

No AAS will help with the healing process. TB500 could help a bit with healing, i know guys use it for slight tendon damage or small muscle tears with results. As far as improving healing time post surgery, who knows. It wouldnt hurt the situation though.

Yeah, I have to be in the day before surgery, then day of, then 2 to 3 days after to 'watch' the healing process. Sounds like a grab for more cash...thank God for national health insurance.

ETA: Did you get any prescription pain meds? Or was everything you go just store bought? They are super strict with pain meds in Japan. There highest dose for prescription is about 1000mg of acetaminophen. Doctor said if my current hernia caused pain that was not being cured by that, to add NSAID to the mix. After that I could ask for opiates, if the pain was still there and the surgeon says it's OK. Going home to recover without any real painkillers is not something I'm looking forward to if the pain is as bad as I think it will be.

From what I understand is its only really bad the first 3-5 days and gets better every day after that. A regular cjc-ghrp stack or tb500 or stack all 3 would aid in healing.

I had it done twice. Once in 1980 and again a year ago March. Back in 80' it was awful. Extremely painful. It isn't so bad now days.

It remained vey sore for the first week. I was taking Percocet 10 mgs but my tolerance is just way to high, so it didn't do much. I hurt the first week, pretty bad. I'm an opiate addict so they wouldn't give me but a weeks supply. But that's good because it won't allow you ton workout hard in the begining

The pain is not all that bad, it's a personal thing and the surgery is light. The pain was nothing like my herniated disks.

Better safe then sorry when coming back. Remember that when getting back it isn't all about pain this is a patch for life. If it doesn't mend solid your Fvcked. So I say go slow coming back. You can tear it loose.

Well just walked out of the hospital a a few minutes ago from having my hernia repaired. It definitely sucks ass at first but it's not unbearable. They gave me lortab 10s. Hopefully in 6 weeks I'm ready to kill the gym.

Did you have to stay in the hospital? Or was it outpatient? I'm going in next week and the docs in Japan are saying 10 days in hospital. I actually have to check in the day before surgery in the morning...
