Upper Pecs!!

What's up boys, I've always had a problem growing my upper chest. I'm not a big dude by any means but even as I get stronger, lift heavy etc...my upper chest doesn't seem to grow.

Right now doing a 5x5 type routine:

Flat DB press 5x5 (up to 105's will be trying 110's next chest day)

Incline Barbell 3x10
Incline Cable flys 3x10
either db flys or cable crossover s/s with pushups.

I was thinking of switching to incline db press for 5x5 once I get 110's for 5 sets of 5. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

Incline DB press definitely hits the upper pec for me - but yeah def try to draw a line straight down to your collarbone - may even have use lighter weight at first, but I've found it's def worth it.

Hate to say it but Matt's right lol :freak:

Interesting......thinking about it and I think that's exactly where i'm bringing the weights down. above the nipple line. This could be part of the reason I feel so fatigued after flat..I'm probably hitting the muscle at a similar angle.

I will def give this a shot and I will start out with lighter weights. Thanks boys!

I got my upper pecks via incline fly's and BB bench, as well as DB presses. Upper pecks can take some work if they are not naturally there for you.

shit, i could imagine! i'll be trying it with like 95lbs to start haha....i'm not at the gym to impress anyone! lol. as long as i get the form down, i'm good. thanks!

I was the same man, upper chest lagging bad, Try hammering your upper pecs on chest day, a guy of here gave me the following reoutine and has helped heaps -

Incline BB 4 sets
Bench 3 sets
Incline DB 3-4 sets
Decline BB 3 sets

This routine hammers my chest and has reshaped me a fair bit. All reps done at 10/8/6, The 5x5 routine is for strength not size.

Good luck dude

I would lower the weights a bit and go for 8 reps on your sets min concentrating on the muscle being worked should do the trick for you good luck

check your ego at the door. dont worry about the weight, worry about the muscle being worked! i was guilty for a long time, and am just finally starting to come around. better late than never. good luck brotha
