Went to the doc today... LOL

So I went to my personal physician today to show him the blood tests I had previously ordered from LapCorp...

Long story short he looked at my 246 Test level which is below the low scale rating and told me that an anti-depressent may be in order. He never mentioned it being low until I asked, then he said "its not far out of range" and I asked about my 33.3 estrogen since the scale according to my docs is like single digits to 44.5 or something, he had no comment. He wasn't even going to run more tests so I can find out what my free test and SHBG is until I suggested and pleaded for him to run my blood so we could find out (didn't order these in my original panel through labcorp).

He did agree I had gynocomastia but offered no such advice on what to do about it just agreed that its there.

Anyway, results won't be back for a week, he said, funny since labcorp takes not even 12hours...

Anyway this isn't a thread to try to grab Chip's attention, I've already been in contact with him and am now waiting on the doc to mail me a copy of my physical (couldn't provide me that at the visit) as well as the results of my new blood panel to determine my free test and SHBG...

Just thought I'd chalk one up to another doc not knowing much about low test.

I would think that a PCP would refer you to an endocrinologist at least to see what's going on. I also don't see why he mentioned an antidepressant based on the low test scores?

Quick story: I was currently at my doctor's probing her about my thyroid. My mom has hypothyroidism and I wanted to monitor it because in April 2009 my TSH value was 1.40 and in July 2010, it was 2.99. All I wanted to do was have some blood drawn to make sure I am not developing subclinical hypothyroidism and the bitch disregarded my concerns. I had the new revised guidelines from the American Endocrinologist Association (or something) for the treatment of hypothyroidism and she kept saying my numbers are within range. I'm not one to be confrontational so instead of arguing with her and trying to persuade her, I'm going to another doctor to check my thyroid function. It is frustrating as hell; why can't they jus' request some blood drawn to shut my ass up??

Do you got insurance? Could be one reason, another is that they usually have to refer you to a specialist which means they may lose a patient and $$$ lol.

On top of that, its work. Doctors dont want to work anymore.

I used to go to one doc that would give me a palgic tab prescription no matter what was wrong and shove me out the door. Coulda had a arrow sticking into my rib cage, and it would be palgic tabs and "goodbye!".

Not7fifteen.... I know we are already talking, but I'd like to blast you doc in the fucking head!! Just another jerkoff that should have his license stripped!! Stripped because he knows ZERO about TRT.... NO. CAUSE I KNOW ZERO ABOUT HEAD GASKETS OR CASKETS OR WHATEVER THE FUCK THEY ARE CALLED ON JOWS6 "BATMOBILE", but stripped because he's to much of an egotistical prick to TELL YOU HE DOESN'T KNOW SHIT!! I just can wait till we get you rolling right! :wtf:

AND ZERO V.... VERY, VERY SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF YOUR GRANDMOTHER. IT'S A NICE TRIBUTE YOU GAVE HER AND I KNOW SHE IS PROUD OF YOUR WORK.

That is fucked up. Doctors jump to the SSRI's (antidepressants) way to fast for just about every complaint. They have been pushed so hard for the last 20 years by the drug companies it has become engrained. It is a travisty.

They are good when needed but I really think alot of men that are put on antidepressants for complaaints of sleep issues, not feeling right, etc really have subclinical low testosterone. They get put on SSRI's then their dick doesn't work good and get more depressed.

Look at the source too. If your MD is a 5 foot tall 120 pound pakistani limp wrist that has to strain when working the reflex hammer who has never had test greater than 200 to begin with, you are probably going to have issues.

At the very least, it needs to be investigated. Seeing a test of 240 or whatever it was and saying lets try some antidepressants would earn a swift kick in the fucking nuts.

CYTO... Where you been, BEAST!??
We been having a ton of fun up in this forum and RJ has commented numerous times on how he misses the "soft, tender, and delicate" nature by which you two communicate:rant:;)

whatever Chip...

Cyto knows i LOVE it rough!!

Prob just need my cobs blown out lol...

Anyway, anxiously waiting on my physical results and new blood panel next wednesday (wank wank)...

I did hand him the Scally study of the 19 men with low test that were put on HCG and clomid and an anti estrogen whom all of which regained a natural test within REAL normal range afterward... He prob tossed that shit in the trash the second I left... I guess time will tell.

Chip, I'll be in touch as soon as I get my physical and panel back... I thought maybe my doc may be slightly above average on the matter with high hopes after reading all the horror stories on here. WIth high hopes I went in, with a classic realization I walked out lol.

You should tell the Doctor you not impressed with the options he's offering and that you've been research this and he should be offering you Testosterone replacement therapy. He need to be put on point Medicine is a business he's not providing good competent service. He need to up his game.
