I know man I've been around for a while.

I've tried alot of things and know what works well for me.

Was just curious what he has in mind. I'm probably not going to look for it either. :laugh4:

Then don't expect us to repeat it ----

Hell my recommendation is even in this damn thread. Somone already posted it and was having success with it.

For a newbie like yourself its time to sit back and listen to experience--

I know at the age of 21 you think you know everything but just for a minue listen to the guys that have been around.

I'm still waiting on you to post your pics so you can show me your way is better? Where are they? I have pics of people already up. Just waiting on yours.

Dam it wrote out a reply and computer crashes so here it is again in a more abrupt manner.

My point is I am not criticising I asked Why as I want to learn.
I have a logic behind mine. I eat about 2hrs before hand complex carbs and a slow protein this will fuel the workout.
PWO I take dextrose malto and simple carbs to rapidly replenish lost glycogen supress cortisol and catabolism and promote anabolism. I then eat normal food an hour later oats and chicken and continue on for rest of day.

I know you have a lot of respect on this forum which must be for good reason so am very interested to hear what you think however I do not follow blind advice because someone may be bigger than me I need to know the reasoning for it and I deem it a fair request.
If it was like that when i started I would of folowed one guy who only ate carbs pwo or another guy one of the biggest in the gym who trained 4 hrs a day.

Thanks

not exactly. the benefit in using malto and dextrose is that it causes a sustained insulin spike capable of transporting glucose and amino acids(protein and carbs) to your muscle. when you say glycogen it is important to note that you want to replenish muscle glycogen not liver glycogen which is useless. a lot of people here use juices and fruit PWO which is not optimal because it will replenish liver glycogen, however do nothing beneficial for your muscles PWO.

Yup I realise that maybe i just did not phrase it well I was majorly pissed computer crashed at first attempt. Fruit isnt that bad as it contains glucose as well also it will replenish liver so any other glucpse taken will go to muscles

This isn't about who is the biggest or whatever. This is about the fact I have YEARS of experience working with hundreds of people.

You for some reason want to try and make lifting weights and diet an extremely scientific endeavor. Its NOT! You are over analyzing things. Having a basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology is great and will help, but you can not sit down and say this + this + this = this

Just doesn't work in the real world, There are many things that looked good on paper. Hell Testosterone Undeconate looks like the greatest damn steroid on the planet if all your doing is looking at it from what it does on paper. In practical application it does not.

Newer products such as Waxy Maize have made getting carbohydrates into muscle cells faster and better.

Malto and Dex are products you don't see. hell i'll be straight up 9 / 10 guys that are pro's aren't doing the Malto / Dex. Its about Whole Foods.

There is no need to spike your insulin like you are doing. Absolutely none your LONG TERM (READ THAT AGAIN) will be just as good without it. So don't post a study on undereating untrained men who take a dextrose shake immeditaley following training for 1 week. I couldn't give a shit.

Use some common sense---And look at a body of work what that individual has done over a period of time.

This kind of brings me to another board. Musclemayhem - Tom Prince in the early years of the board would post things on there all the time with what he did and all these damn little kids would criticize everything that came out of his mouth. Wanting him to back it up with some scientific forumla and crap----Doesn't what he has done with himself and Clients speak enough???

I only go to this cause we use to talk about this every so often when he worked with me on my nutrition.

.

Thats the point without looking at science nearly every bodybuilder I know takes a pwo shake with malto or dextrose the science just backs it.
I have to be honest and say here I have never heard of or seen Waxy maize dont even know if its available here,
You say malto is no extra benefit so I ask is it any worse? You say long term will be just as good but how do you know it wont be reached quicker with it.
Is there a negative to taking the mato/dextrose for rapid uptake- Im actually asking to learn.

I still don't understand. When is oatmeal better, before or after a workout? I always thought its better before since it's slower digesting. I read everything Dirk said in the above posts and am still confused aboot the oatmeal

Eat oatmeal before or after - eat rice before or after - eat potato before or after....

It won't make a hell of a lot of beans. What you do throughout the whole day is the most important thing.

If you do have the time though the pwo meal i've put on the board is a nice addition to your diet.

I'll put this up - After a long layoff from a broken hand (4 1/2 months along with two surgeries) i finally got back in the gym on monday. I'll be going full swing in a couple weeks. I'm getting married in June and I will be in deep sh*t if i don't look good for pictures. This is the diet i'll be starting out on. Can anyone guess what meal i'll be working out after or before???

Meal 1:

1 1/2 cups Egg Whites
2 packets Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal
1 tbsp. Natural Peanut Butter

Meal 2:

2 servings True Protein Whey Isolate Cold Filtration
1/2 cup Protein Factory OatMuscle
1 tbsp. True Protein Flax Seed Oil Powder
4 grams Black Star Labs Vanilla Flavor

Meal 3

10 oz. Top Sirloin Steak
12 oz. Baby Red Potato

Meal 4:

8 oz. Chicken Breast (boneless/skinless)
3/4 cup Fried Rice

Meal 5:

2 servings True Protein Whey Isolate Cold Filtration
1/2 cup Protein Factory OatMuscle
1 tbsp. True Protein Flax Seed Oil Powder
4 grams Black Star Labs Vanilla Flavor

Meal 6:

1 1/2 cups Egg Whites
2 packets Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal
1 tbsp. Natural Peanut Butter

Answer: IT DOESN'T MATTER. If i can't workout till the end of the day. Then so be it. The biggest thing is JUST DO IT!!!!

No complicating my life trying to fit in my life around BB. I'm fitting BB in around my life-

I planned on posting biweekly and weekly steps as we go along which i still will but I think this fit in with our conversation.

Guess we'll see if not taking my dextrose/malto mix is going to hurt my results...

Great debate here guys. Dirk, thanks for those links. I forget how much good info is over there at IM.

I will say that for me, the only reason i even use a PWO shake as opposed to a meal is for ease. Alot of times I am running to the store after I train, or doing some random errand. Havinhg a shake just makes it easier.

If I could eat a whole food meal at the gym (with regards to time constraints), i would.
