What do you guys consider abusing AAS to be?

when someone does a cycle without proper pct, or does an oral only cycle of dbol, and other toxic orals

also people who over dose and overstack without prior use thinking the more they used the more jacked they will be

abuse is when ur using something thats meant for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), everytime someone uses 2-4 weeks of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose :(

Good responses thus far. I honestly would say that abuse is when guys have no regard for their health. Like I have said many times, you can look great with rock hard abs in a death bed. So with that being said, its when guys don't monitor their health. One of the biggest problems with cycling for most guys is high blood pressure. Out of the guys that cycle, how many truly monitor their blood pressure?? Its beating their heart, vessels, and kidneys to death with all these compounds. You will see guys run a 20 week cycle and take 2-4 weeks off and then back on. A lot of guys also have that mentality that more is better. If I am getting great results running my tren at 300-400 per week, then why would I need to run it at 1000mg?? I could see if it was simply just to test out, but I see it far too often in this game. I honestly wish more guys would post blood work pre, during, and post cycle. I don't abuse steroids in my opinion. If my health is not checking out, I am not cycling. Period.

It's a mental health issue; I see people who use a cycle with great respect, diet, PCT and workout properly, then carry on working out like any other day. In the end they could take it or leave it, it's a means to and end, that's it. Then there are those who have no plan in any category, be it workout, diet, PCT, they just get it and go.. no clue what they are doing, they treat it like it was E or weed. That's just stupid and the semi smart ones are going to realize just how stupid they were/are and never do it again.. not abuse, just stupid.
When it becomes abuse someone cannot function or exists properly without it, is willing to take huge risks, regardless of the signs they present to tell them they are in serious doo-doo. Those people the ones who mentally can not function without some form of PED, those are abusers.

I am with riprockwell. Number one is not taking measures to monitor your health, ie bloodwork, BP monitoring, etc.

Anything over doctors prescribed dose FOR A MEDICAL CONDITION is abuse.

I disagree with this. Aside from the fact that most doctors are completely clueless in the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) world, usage beyond testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) prescriptions can be done responsibly and in many cases for the betterment of your health in several ways.

I would say that abuse is using steroids to make up for a bad part of your training. Example, if you train hard and use AAS to make up for your shit diet or sleep.

I agree with this. Even though I haven't used it, I still think people can without calling it abuse. In fact I wish it would be legal so we can make that distinction more.

Its always sad when I see 20 year olds at the gym who are two or three times the size of other guys at the gym. You know they have to be blasting steroids to get that size and it is very different from someone who cycles it on and off, and actually let's there body reset and heal.

Just IMO.

Its very simple, Abuse is Taking to high of does and not cycling off. The rule of thumb is time on = time off. Get blood work to keep yourself in check.

Austinite, I don't know where you came from - but you definitely know your stuff my man. Receptor saturation is a technique used by many testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) docs in the know to jump start the therapy. It worked in my case, and I totally can see it helping others that have been hypogonadal for a looong time like I was. Of course, Uncle Sam doesn't like this - but it appears they like us being sick, go figure.

Its sad to you when you see kids that are two or three times the size of the other guys in your gym? why is this sad to you and why do you care? You sound like a hater to me and steroids don't make you grow food does.

I agree with what you said, but I do have to admit I want to smack the 18 year old kids around a bit when I see them all bloated up and acting like asses because they're running dbol and think they're gods of the gym. Rant: Dropping those 85lb dumbbells after doing dumbbell chest presses does NOT make one look like a stud - just makes them look like a tool.

A good friend of mine (might be a member here) said something that I've included in my sig elsewhere...

It's human nature in a "more is better" society full of a younger generation that expects instant gratification, then complain when they don't get it. The problem will get far worse before it gets better. - kelkel

Soooooooooooo true. Just think, they'll be running the country soon too. ;)

Cant steroids do damage to you permanently when used too young?

I didn't mean to hate, I just think they are doing it too soon, thats all.

And, speaking from a personal perspective, a lot of the young guys I have come across who do steroids at that age tend to be gay, and are doing it for the wrong reasons. When you ask them about it (the gym, because I am not stupid enough to ask them if they do steroids) they say that they do it because it will make them more date-able, or more likely to find love, and quite frankly I do think that is a wrong reason to mess with your hormones. No one is going to love you because you have huge muscles. Sleep with, yes, but something deeper than that takes more than being big and bulky. Personally if you want to do AAS for your own personal goals than great, but I think that tons of young gay men get caught up in having to upkeep an image rather than their own personal desire.

(this is all generally speaking, I know that not everyone fits the mold but still, this has been my general opinion).

Plus Ive seen lots of gay men in their 40s who did AAS in the past and once they stop they dont look as good anymore :-(

Yes steroids can do damge when your young. They can halt the growth of platelets and a lot of hormonal issues. As for the gay thing that might just be a coincidence I know lots of younger guys (17-21) who are straight and juice. And the reason for not looking as good isn't directly linked to giving up aas. they may have lost dedication to diet and the gym. But JMO
