What is the point of taking steroids ?

Smokey,
I think you are bringing up some great points and I hope this thread keeps going because I think that it will provide valuable insight to newb's like myself.

I am 31 and have always lived an active lifestyle through sports as a teen, military, working construction, and weightlifting (which about 4 years ago, I started to do smartly). I HAVE NOT DONE AAS, yet. I am still learning.

I think the people that lose ALL of their gains are the people that do not follow proper diet and have poor training practices. For example, I have a couple of friends who are the type that you are talking about. However, I know that when they are on cycle they have a tendency to test their 1rm on the bench press 2-3 times a week or any other lift for that matter. And forget about a proper PCT.

I feel that with proper training practices, diet, and PCT some gains can be kept.

Good thread!

If your into fitness and taking yourself to a level of no return then steroids are for you. The more you research and use them you realize how they should be used and how to use them properly.

Prove you wrong? Umm I wasn't aware anyone here on these forums owed you anything. I couldn't care less if you ran a cycle or not. We aren't here to talk you into running a cycle and proving to you why you should or shouldn't. If you are so unbelievable weak minded that you need someone to help make up your mind, then you have bigger issues. I guess that would put you below those who come ask our permission to compete, but slightly ahead of the var only crowd.

I have to either get irritated or sigh with resignation when I see guys in my gym who only "live the life" when they are "on"...its those lame fucks who give those of us on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) with a use, past a bad rap.

I see these guys growing...sometimes alarmingly fast for 3 4 5 6 months. Then I don t see them for 2 3 4 5 6 months and back they re back on "jump street' if that is still a recognized slang reference to starting over, in today's hip hop venacular.

Its all part of todays need for instant gratification and lack of proper work ethic that is so lacking in todays societal norm.

I ll admit I too wanted it "now" not later when I ate my first d bol tabs at age 20 and swolle like a frog when on them only to shrivel like a post orgasmic penis when off.

However, the day I was taught proper deadlift form and subsequently pulled 405 at a bodyweight of 175 ish...I thought "Hey, I may be good at this powerlifting thing!!"

I set my sights on a 181 meet and geared up. That was 1983 and I ran aas till about 1990 and did well.....securing 3 degrees and a good job to boot. I credit using, not abusing them to my success in competition.

Now I find that when things are good in the gym...the rest of my life follows suit.

Thank fucking God somebody finally said it.

HYL,

At the risk of leaning to much in a given direction I m in agreement.

However I must admit and give credit to the o p for raising a topic that has generated, ostly good feedback.

Savvy ?

Bio identical is just an Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) term. It's test. The same stuff your body makes naturally. Bio identical just means it cannot be distinguished from what your body produces. Other "steroids" have muscle building effects but are not produced naturally. I believe the only way to detect test is to measure levels. If the levels are so much higher than what your body produces naturally they know you're taking test. For other steroids they can detect them just like they do cocaine as its not naturally found in your body. That's my understanding. Someone here may know otherwise. I'm not a doctor or chemist.

Only problem is his first two post painted too wide of a brush saying what we all do (those who posted pictures), then went on to demand we prove him wrong. Reason this post hit a nerve for me, is because it's the same line of thinking that has people saying and fighting against anyone using steroids. Someone gets it in their head that they know whats good, then forces it on others. If someone disagrees on something being a benefit, then ok don't do it.

*incoming rant*
I still don't see the point in train spotting, but it's their choice. I won't go make a post detailing the reason why I think train spotting is a waste of valuable time that could be better spent developing yourself socially, mentally, physically, and in the end only leads to a state of stunted overall growth and well being due to the isolation behavior it breeds. Then demand that someone proves me wrong through some proven social experiment, with case studies of those individuals who are indeed well adjusted / rounded people.

If someone fills too many people jump into steroids for the wrong reason, then make a post to that fact, in a clear effort to try to help them. Don't make a post insulting a community.

Man I'm all over the place right now, I don't know what I'm talking about. But I do know those initial post had nothing to do with helping anyone.

Respect to you bro , you rock !

mmm ok pumpkin. I'm dead to a lot of people I'm sure. Thus is my life.

btw I'm not the one here seeking approval or needing someone to decide for me the direction my life should take in the world of steroids. No you shouldn't be using if you have to make two threads back to back asking as much.

Dang OP, and here I thought, with all the bashin you have been doing since u joined, I thought u had maybe used AAS. I was wrong apparently. I've done 3 proper cycles and afterwards kept 85-90% of my gains using proper cycling methods. Steroids are great when used properly. They are pointless when not. Why your on this board in the first place is what I want to know. Try steroids, don't try steroids. I couldn't care less. I'm not here to prove anything to anyone. Only to help people. U on the other hand are a shit starter and have no place here. Have a good one and be safe!!

Edit: whoops wrong quote

You gotta admit , it got you guys going and thats what I needed..straight up answers...I'm convinced now that good diet , training hard , proper PCT can result in long lasting gains

I agree on the feedback part for sure but this entire thread could have been handled in a far less obnoxious fashion by the OP. For instance:

Why do you all do steroids? And how hard will it be for me to keep my gains if I were to run a cycle?

Those two things right there is all he really wants to know and no doubt they are legit questions but coming on our board and questioning our choices, then demanding justification for our choices, and finally judging our choices just put me off.

Here's the deal OP. It's my body. There is nothing else on this planet so easily justified as my property as my body. I should be able to do with it as I please and if what I want to do involves another person, as long as they consent, there should be no questions concerning the legality or the morality. Don't like drugs? Then don't do them. Don't get turned on by men? Don't bang dudes. Don't like assisted suicide? Don't kill yourself.

It's really that easy. I stay out of your business, you stay out of mine, and neither one of us has to justify our choices to each other.

No , I'm here to find out if it's worth taking them..I bought some test cyp awhile back..only 2 weeks worth...need more , but getting answers as to weather it's worth it or not...apparently it is if done correctly..85 - 90 % is awesome . Thanks for the feedback !

I hear ya and I admit I came across as a prick...sorry bout that ..you all have my respect now that questions are being answered..now it's my turn to earn your respect..that could take a while lol

Here's the problem. Research as you stated you've done would have shown that. Now, you will say that you got conflicting information. Then that leads to the next issue. What would make the answers given in this thread any different than the answers you already have found through research? You have already read about those things being the key to success, yet this thread some how is the icing on the cake? In the end the only true way to prove one way or another is to try. Plain and simple. Same with a source. You will here good and bad about the same source, in the end you have to decide to jump in. Calling everyone out in a thread, and then acting surprised when someone fires back and disagrees?

I've gotten one neg so far off of this by someone who didn't leave a name but in the end I stand by my decision because it's my decision. Critique it as you will, and If I'm found to be wrong I can own that. Point is, I have a damn strong mental foundation, and I'm tired of seeing the threads on here of guys needing us to make up there mind, no matter how cleverly well written the post are.

It's one thing to ask "should I run tbol or dbol" due to getting conflicting information. But to start off by stating "I think running both are a waste of time because in the end one gives too much water weight and the other gains aren't great, now someone prove me wrong....go on I dare you let me see you do. I've done my research and I'm convinced I can make it without them." Then I post a second thread "Hey so do you guys think I'm ready for that dbol?" All the while not wanting anyone to call me out and if they do, I call them names?

As long as I'm ranting, that sounds familiar. If you disagree with "x" then you're a "homo x." You know what I just freaking disagree, be secure in you and do you. And for the record I couldn't care less about "x".

Same. I thought feedback would go both ways. Problem is if you give equally harsh feedback (as the tone of the first post was harsh), then you're suddenly not playing by the rules. At this point, this has become my "something to do thread."
