What is worst on the liver, steroids or alcohol?

DEATH to "The Club Boys"!
Say you are taking around 30mg of dbol a day. Would a few shots of of hard liqueur everyday be worst on the liver? Or not as bad?

just wondering.

i would think alchohol if your getting drunk everyday. Just picture you getting wasted for 10-12 weeks straight ed, you wouldnt be in good condition.

Either one taken to excess is bad for your body. The good news is that the liver is "self-repairing". Also, 30mg of dbol a day is not that much, unless you run it for extremely long periods of time. I'm a recovering alcoholic so I'm very conscious of the liver. I taxed it to the limit. When I quit drinking, I had this kindof yellowish gray color to me and weighed 134 lbs. Today I'm 220. Getting back to the topic, when I run dbol, I take 40mg per day for 6 weeks and that's all. Everything else is injected, so as to skip the "first pass" through the liver. Hope this helps.

However much it takes of either one to put you at 100% liver workload for extended periods of time.

So really there is no answer.

really depends on you.

there are numerous genetic variants that result in CYP450 differences. lower or muted activity of CYP2E1 for instance means that you are more suceptiable to carbon tetrachloride poisoning.

When I was 19 I was sick in bed for a little over a month with flu symptoms. I got blood tested for everything ... mono, hepatitis, etc because I had an inflamed liver. All my tests came up negative and they never did figure out what happened to me. It took me about 2 months to get my full energy back. At one point they asked me if I took steroids.

At the point when I got sick I personally think it was from over-training and my body just shut down on me. I was working out hard with weights 6 days a week, running 2-5 miles a day, and my diet was about 20g of fat, 100-200g carbs and 200g protein. Plus I was taking a bunch of supplements.

Now I am 26 and getting ready for my first cycles soon and a bit nervouse because of my past. However, when it comes to training and diet I am much smarter now. Plus I am really trying to learn as much as possible about gear so that I don't make any mistakes.

Back then I would drink around one time a month, now is even less. So I don't think my liver had anything to do with alcohol.

With this thread I was trying to figure out if there was anything we all might use on a regular basis that could be as bad, or worst on the liver than oral steroids; so I could put my mind at ease because my liver is pretty much the only concern I have with starting gear.

take it for what its worth but my boss is 50, he pops 1600-3200mg ibuprofin(fell off the roof 5 years ago and broke his back), and drinks 4-5 cups of coffee with irish creme and brandy ed of his life. The liver is a strong organ, just make sure to have it tested

Yep, it is strong in many people and not some. I know someone with onset of chirossis and she is 29 hardly ever drank, her mother died of it and was never a drinker. Some people inherit fatty livers.

Unless your an alcoholic, tylonel is one of the harshest things that you can do to your liver.
agreed , the only blood test where my liver enzymes ? were out to lunch was off cycle and i had been sick and taking large doses of otc meds for flu , i didnt realize most of them had tylenol in them . fortunately my liver recovered but i dont tounch tylenol now

Me neither, I use aspirin. According to one doc she says that other than alcohol, most liver related crap is tylenol based. When I was younger I didn't know anything about that and I would easily drop 5 extra strength at a time to get rid of headaches.

You can't just compare the two like that, unless you are a heavy drinker. A couple beer a day is very good for you. So Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) in moderation VS. alcohol in moderation, Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) is worse for sure.

Sweet, alcohol is worse pound for pound with AAS. You've got to see some livers.
