What to take for Prostate Protection while on TRT

He can, but he needs help in the form of meds. He won't try cialis or viagra, but is on some injectable for it. Gosh, I want to say he had his operation when he was 51?

Yes, cialis is good for the prostate. Not sure what you mean by the pump though. :p

Was your dad on any testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) ?
damn!!! 51 ???
My Great Granddad died of it...my Grand dad has it...he's 91 though. He's had it for years. The meds gave him depression so he dumped them years ago. Gave him nasty sweats and a feeling of burning on his back.
Doc said to my uncle(never told granddad) it spread to his lungs... My dad has BPH...
fuck!

I don't know his doctor's name lol. Besides, unless you live in Texas - I doubt it would do you any good. ;)

Well, he got it from Agent Orange in Vietnam. By the way, almost EVERY male will develop prostate cancer sometime in their life. The big difference is when it develops. In fact, most over 80 don't do anything about it as the surgery/treatment would cause a far greater impact on their quality of life than just letting it go and treating the symptoms. BPH can be helped with Cialis btw.

Ya but what about us testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) guys?
Docs will take patient off testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) when Prostate PSA levels are elevated.
What I don't understand is...is PC Diet or Hormone related?
Media reports that North American diets, habits are linked to increased cases of it.

It's called managing your estrogen. I'd wager 95% of EVERY SINGLE side effect (minus the obvious ones like MPB acceleration) can be linked to aromatization of that testosterone into the carcinogen known as estradiol. Oh, and cialis helps with BPH. ;)

yup

Docs will only take you off testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) because they have been taught that testosterone is the enemy and they certainly don't want to be sued for making your cancer worse. PC is related to both actually. Not only does our diet have the ability to influence hormones, but as adipose tissue contains aromatase enzymes - which are increased by a poor diet, you can easily link diet to prostate cancer.

The media is nothing more than a glorified sensationalist source of information now a days. Ever since it was decided that impartial news reporting was to take a back seat to headline grabbing, money generating exaggerations - you kind of have to take it all with a grain of salt. Water can kill you; that doesn't mean that we should stop drinking it because the news shows studies on how it's a new deadly menace. ;)

From what I understand, the thinking is changing in this area. It has long been observed that eunuchs do not get PC and that blocking all T in PC patients will bring down PSA. From there, the conclusion was drawn that T fuels and accelerates PC. However, more recent studies seem to indicate that T has more of a permissive role, meaning you need some for PC to progress (until it becomes refractory), but more won't necessarily make it progress faster.
That said, I know my clinic will drop me like a hot potato if my PSA climbs, and to be fair they were at least up front about it.

Indeed. I'm just hoping that they catch up and start doing real studies like the few I've seen come out of the Mayo clinic where they are starting to point the finger at estradiol and DHT conversion. Sure testosterone is a precursor to both those hormones, but that doesn't mean it has to be the enemy. Yeah, my doc said the same thing and I'm just about due for my digital examination of the year. Luckily he's a small handed Asian guy that has a sense of humor about it all. ;)

The injectable medicine that most likely being used is called Caverjet. I remember this from a thread long ago in the old Convo Forum here with May1010....he posted a video of a guy using it and I was scarred for life...it is injected in the side of your penis and it causes it to become erect. I gotta go....I got the Willies......
