Personal best 495x6 tonight... ears rushed closed, saw freakin stars, almost harfed and had to lay down after that set, my god Im wrecked. Same time next week? :D
 
First I super set 3 sets of leg extensions to failure with 20 plates on leg press for 20 reps.

Then I do 3 sets of 20 reps with 315 on squats.

That is all I do for quads these days...
 
there are few routines out there but i use it to start my leg workout - the rest is icing on the cake ;)

its one set. and don't be afraid to challenge yourself, but you'll only use about 50% your 1RM - but thats just a guess. for your first time if you're doing it with your bodyweight on the bar thetas pretty good - IMO

but yeah - one set, 20 reps. it usually goes something like this...

1-5 - okay - no biggie, getting warmed up
6-10 - alright feels good, starting to get a little burn
11-14 - getting a little difficult
15-17 - alright its in my head now, i don't think i can do any more
18... so tired...
19... almost....
20. wow.


when you get done you should be exhausted, legs burning, breathing hard, etc.

its very stressful if done right.

you can't add much weight each week but try to add between between 5 and ten pounds.

you can also use it as an occasional training method to shock your body - just keep your eye on your weight

Really couldn't of said it better myself LOL, they work really really well. They are just hard which is why most people don't do them, Form breaks down usually and your just a mess by rep 15 fighting to just balance and let alone breath. I started just doing my squats slower to get the same effect for about 10 reps going slow on negative and trying to blast up after a slight pause. Epic cardio as well haha
 
Man, 20 rep squats are the best. It is really intense and for some reason I can barely walk after. My legs feel like noodles lol. But for me it is very mental and I have to take every rep with positiveness. It really is a awesome accomplishment after you have pushed yourself to the max doing 20 squats.
