Will gear help me?

I've got an issue! I've had tennis elbows for 4 months now (and no I don't play tennis LOL) my Doc said to lay off the weights for a while. Well since Thanksgiving I hadn't touched a weight and boy have I put on the fat! Well my elbows are still the same and I started back lifting this week with light light weights trying to get my elbows flexed out. After a week their still the same. Some good days some bad. I've had some folks tell me that gear will help them heal and get me back on track. Any ideas or personal experiences out there? My diet is usually pretty clean except over the hollidays, and I drink Vodka some. Been thinking about quit drinking all together.

Thanks

No gear, just get back in shape naturally.
Don't listen to the person telling you gear is what you need.

I would start by finding out for sure what is wrong. This requires an MRI. Get that done and determine if it is ligament, tendon, muscle, nerve or joint issues. From there, don't accept the BS from doctors that you just need time. There are multiple protocols to increase healing or reignite it when it stops short. Prolotherapy is a well know course and is completely natural and have personally used it on over 20 of my own joints.

On a further note, to buck RA64 (sorry dude) I have used selective AAS and GH to promote healing of soft tissue. This was done after researching the subject thoroughly and documenting my own healing success. However, I would not suggest this route until you know what is going on.

I have had similar issues on the elbows and shoulders. my job involve a lot of heavy pulling.
I started taking fish oil (on recommendation) three times a day and it keeps it at bay. no more joint issues at all.
IDK, it may be worth a shot and it wont hurt.

Irentat, what is Prolotherapy? Never heard of it. Bokatolo, fish oil is good for the joints. Sometimes it takes somebody telling you somethng you already know. LOL Thanks guys. I go to my Doc at the end on Jan, and plan on talking to him about the elbows, I was just wanting some info to take to him. In otherwords educate myself before I see him, and I will def bring up the Prolotherapy. Once I figure out what it is :)

Prolotherapy.com home page Essentially it is using dextrose or some other natural irritant injected into the ligaments, tendons, joint to make the body heal. The body will sometimes stop the healing process before it is complete and Prolo reignites it. Used it on about 20 joint all over my body. Since it is generally done by a naturapathic doctor, most doctors don't know about it or even believe in it...then again these are the same doctors that would prefer to replace your joint instead of rebuilding it, or give cortisone shots.

Whatever you decide to do, DON'T get a cortisone shot. Those things shut down healing.

U ever try Glucosamine Chondroiton or ostio biflex? Stuff works great i too once had the chronic elbow pain when i went from curling 35's to curling 60's in a 2 month time frame and it hurt bad as u can imagine. Glucosamine takes about a week or so to get into ur system but will do the trick i quit using it after about 4 months and now i never have joint pain. So i would def try some of these suggestions b4 going to the Doc and getting nothing done lol. Good luck

bro just cuz your doc told u to lay off the weights, doesnt mean you couldnt do cardio. no need to let yourself slip. just sayin

i got tennis elbow from my job and have been on workers comp for 4 months.. just got cleared...

rest.. ice.. compression... and anti-inflammatories.. celebrix is what i used...

u have to give them a break..

are they still aching and stinging??

Guys, thanks again! Irantat, thanks for the link. Yea I didn't want to do the cortizone shots because it would make me feel better and I wouldn't let them rest. I didn't so cardio because I would want to lift :) I tried Glucosamine in the fall and I didn't get any relief with that, but I'm getting fish oil thisafternoon and give that a whirl. 3J, I'm doing everything u listed, except for the celabrix, I use ibuprofin. The compression and ice keep them in check, but yes they still acke. It's like there stiff, constantly rubing them and flexing my hands so the wont stiffin up to bad. I just wish the damn things would heal! I'm back lifting again and it feels GREAT except for the elbows :( Any more thoughts?

Do not use NSAIDs. They also slow down the healing process. A lot of things traditional doctors like to use are not the most beneficial for us. We are a society of getting rid of the pain but not solving the underlying problem.

Irentat, Just looked at the web site. Holly hell it's in Calfornia! I'm on the East Coast :( I'll look around on the web and see if I can find someone around here. Thanks again!

3J lol small world! Don't like workmans comp here. They string you along with drugs, and you never get better. Plus light duty sucks! If I could stay at home and not go see there quacks it might be different. Just picked up a maxteens machine. This is the electrical stimulation therapy. WOW! Just used it on both arms and no pain. So I'm gona keep on this and see what happens :)

Thanks!
P.S. EMT's look after Paramedics and Ya'll look after us ;)
