the write up for is: FILTER FLASK BUCHNER FUNNEL SET WITH VACUUM PUMP, PAPER. Excellent kit for filtering. Consists of one each of Filtering Flask 500 ml, Porcelain Buchner Funnel 90 mm, Vacuum Pump Hand with Gauge, Filter Paper 90 mm Pack of 100 and rubber stopper with hole to accept Buchner Funnel. Packed in box for easy storage.

That pump works fine though... better than medical vacuum pumps IMO. Save a few bucks and get the one without the gauge... it will break eventually anyways! you can pretty much pump it as long as you want and it won't break your bottle top filter so why bother... you can see if your filtering or not... don't need a gauge..

True that you aren't likely to break the bottle top filter. A cheap plastic stericup receiver flask however is only rated for 5 Hg however, I hear. Of course, the best solution to that is don't buy a plastic receiver flask. Instead, buy a nice, glass media bottle.

how many hg's can you pump in a media glass bottle? i have 1liter and 250ML bottles
They support enough to filter and that is what matters. I applied 10Hg of pressure and that was plenty. No sense in pushing the pressure to its limit.

Come of think of it, I must assume the glass media bottle would be the last thing to break from too much pressure.
