Just like nicky said, smell it. If it smells like rancid oil? Don't use it, otherwise your good to go.

if the expiry date is 12/2016, it must have been packaged around 2013/14. that's a good amount of time, guys. now i'm not saying it's gone bad or anything, but i am saying you'd be pinning expired gear you found in your house just to save 40 bucks...

its all about storage and smell for me. If it smells rancid and looks cloudy and you stored it in the sun, then trash it.
if you stored it in a dark, dry, cool place, and it smells normal then pin away my friend.

yes right, some would get fresh gear, to avoid whatever side issues and whatever else might set off your bloodworks in a diferent direction.
