1st appointment - Urine sample

OK fellas,

I've got my 1st appointment with a urologist regarding commencing testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) next week... in his letter (as well as informing me of his extortionate rates) he has requested that I take with me a urine sample...

I'd just like to know why he would want this when he already has my blood test results...?

Any ideas?

A urine sample is a more accurate depiction of whats going on with things like LH and FSH. These 2 hormones fluctuate a lot during the day, the urine sample will provide you with the data of how much was produced for the entire day.

Cross referencing this can allow for a much more accurate diagnosis of primary or secondary.

:)

Well there you go! Leave it up to the guys at IMT to be on point with great info and insite.

Maybe a little ;). I calmed down with the google links in the 2004 threads so all should be good lol

There is some noob that has bumped 4-5 2004 threads today as well with one word responses. Trying to get there post count up so they can PM someone for a source :freak:

Thanks Mr IMT man - that makes sense now...

Damn... if only IMT would extend their boundaries to the UK - there'd be another customer signing up immediately! :)

Cheers guys

No problem man! We want to extend our boundaries out of the country but collecting money has always held us back, I am working on it though, that is partly why we accept Bitcoin now :)

We have had a bunch of guys from UK and Australia ask us for consulting services, to help them with a program that is set up by their local doctor, we can do that now :)

There's always ways to deal with foreign currency transactions and moving money across borders without going to bitcoin. :-)

He's testing for Blood in your urine. It textbook proper procedure. Urologist deal with Kidney stones all day every day.

So, I'm just back from my appointment with the urologist - and I am pleasantly surprised with how positive and progressive he was...

Regarding the urine sample, he was checking for diabetes - I tested negative :)

So, going forward, I am being sent for more blood tests, mainly to rule a couple of things out before commencing treatment.

He wants to check my prolactin levels as well as a test which will show any prostate defects or brain tumours...

If I test ok for these two things - he is then going to start me on Testosterone injections to bring up my levels again... he did state he would be aiming for 15 (our range is from 9 up to 38 or something, so I thought 15 was quite a low target personally?)

He is also willing to prescribe me high dosages of viagra too (although I'm going to try and persuade him to change this to Cialis for the added health benefits if I can)

I know for a fact that he will start me on low dosages of Test initially - are there any tricks of the trade to keep my levels lower on blood testing so that he ups the dosage? Bear in mind, Doctor's in the UK are notorious for the low levels of Test that they are willing to prescribe! :(

Any input or help with this matter would be greatly appreciated - and also any thoughts as to what I need to ask on my next visit - ie: prescription of an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) or similar to go along with the Test...?

I am VERY keen to work with you once I get my blood tests done to check prolactin etc...

How would it work going forward - do I get a program set up by my doctor and then approach you for advice/suggestions/tweaking?

Please forgive me, I'm a newcomer to testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), you'll have to explain your procedures to me :)

What about blood tests, aren't those considered accurate for LH, FSH ?
Urine is more accurate than blood?

Yep, the blood tests were fine for everything, he just needed a urine sample for the diabetes check apparently...

Thanks everyone for your help...

If anyone has anymore thoughts, please keep 'em coming :)

Thanks for the update... Have they put you on gels or injections?

There are plenty of tricks to lower your levels.. My doc advised me on how to achieve a lower level for my second blood test so as to ensure i receive the government kick back...

If one of the senior members have not already enlightened you, PM me and ill give you the run down on what my doc advised me to do.

They haven't put me on anything yet WhiteDog - they have sent me for blood tests to rule out prolactin and prostate issues first. He did say if these come back clear that he intends to start me on a mixture of injections and gels/patch...

I presume he wants to combine them as he can only prescribe a set amount legally (UK) via injection, so he sees the gel/patch as a way of topping up... this is purely guesswork I must add...

From what I can gather from other UK testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) guys - they start you off with 1ml of sustanon 250 every 3 weeks and then when you complain about the obvious crash, they drop this to two weeks... obviously I'll be pushing for a weekly injection - and then once I can persuade them to let me self-administer - I'll be pinning every 3.5 days...

I'll be honest, I never got round to discussing dosages last night - I was still in shock and trying to come to terms with the fact that it's time to give up on the thought that I can provide my own! Now that I've got my head round testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), I need to make sure I'm armed with as much knowledge as I can, to get myself the best protocol I can get going forward...

I've noted your advice in the PM you sent - thanks for that buddy - and Megatron, as always, has been fantastic :)

Cheers guys, BigBen

Oh, Can anyone tell me what ester Sustanon has... I know Test cypionate is a short ester and Test enanthate a long one - but I'm unsure on Sustanon...
