2 months after pct and total test syrum is 299. help please

i'll try to be as brief as possible......I cannot believe how stupid this doctor was! She saw my results and told me that bloods were not accurate for hormone levels and that urine is better (which could be true). She said it could be a fluctuation. I told her that i was tested in 2011 and my levels were 405 which is the levels of an 80 year old man and she said those levels are fine. Then she asked why I got a female hormone panel instead of a male and i told her it was cheaper. she said that the test was inaccurate because it was for females. She then wondered why they tested for LH and FSH and I told her because it determines whether the problem is in my brain or in my testicles. She then tried to tell me that LH and FSH were only relevant in female tests because it is related to ovaries and egg production. I told her that LH is what tells the testicles to produce test and FSH stimulates production of sperm. She argued with me that it is only useful on females. I could not believe i was having this argument with a licensed doctor! she was the dumbest f-ing person. I told her i had over 100 pages of research in my backpack that contradicts everything she said....she ignored this and sent me for a more comprehensive blood test. I will get my results in a few days and she said if they are still low she will refer me to a urologist. I should have took out the articles and read them to her but i was trying really hard not to be insulting. I am in disbelief of how ignorant and dumb this doctor was.

anyone know how good urologists are compared to endo's? I dont really want to wait over a month to see an endo if i can avoid it. Are uro's just as good?

and i just found my results from 2011. First results were two weeks after a 6 week osta run at 12.5 mg. Second was about 2.5 months later.

8/24/2011
Total Testosterone: 419 ng/dL Range: (250-1100)...very low for a 22 year old imo. Free test is in range but not sure if it's a good number for my age or not.
Free Testosterone: 102.2 pg/mL Range: (35-155)

11/10/2011
Total Testosterone: 420 ng/dL Range: (250-1100)
Free Testosterone: 80.2 pg/mL Range (35-155)

It appears my free test was higher two weeks after the osta than 3 months after the osta....interesting. I have heard that osta lowers shbg so maybe that is true in my case. Is it ok to have low total T as long as the free T is at a good number? I just feel like I should/should have been producing more. It's only going to go down from here.

thank you. i agree. i'm going to see what a doc says. I'm not going to push trt but if thats what he recommends then i certainly won't argue. If i am actually primary hypo then wouldn't that be something that was wrong before i even cycled? i can see how cycling can cause secondary hypo but not primary...

I think you'll find alot of general doctors are waay behind the times when it comes to AAS/endocrine system. Remember they have to train in all areas of medicine, whereas us average guys just research what we need to know. Which is often why we know what we need better than the GP. Endos will be much more up to date though (good ones anyway.)

Also primary hypogonadosm can be AAS induced... By shutting down LH production the leydig cells in the testes can become desensitized. They are the cells responsible for producing the test. So that can be why your balls aren't responding. I believe Austin has an article around here somewhere on a HCG protocol to re-sensitize the leydig cells. That may be an option for you to look into if your next bloodwork shows no improvement :)

Ok thanks. I ran hcg 500iu a week from week 3 until a few days before pct. I would think that would keep them running unless it was bunk...

That should maintain function yes.. Don't knowthe exact protocol on resensitizing but I think it may need to be done off cycle and possibly higher doses. Cant remember, have a search for Austinites article on HCG.

ok ladies and gents the bloods are in.....
Total Testosterone: 346 (250-1100)
Free Testosterone: 78.6 (35-155)

So my total T dropped but free T stayed somewhat in range...makes no sense to me. Was told both are normal but I have decided to ignore what the doctors say and have them refer me to a urologist. I don't feel like I should feel as a 24 year old and I know my body so I want to get a more knowledgeable opinion.

got a second opinion from my actual doctor and he said that 299 and 346 are completely normal levels. He also said my free test levels of 79 and 80 are completely normal as well. I'm done with doctors. I dont care if they have a degree they are not up to date on this stuff. He basically told me i'm doomed to feel like shit forever because he wont accept that i have low T. Urologist apt on the 18th of april. I'm praying that this guy can help me...

Sorry to hear this bud. Yeah GPs can be a nightmare sometimes. I can't even get bloodwork out of mine lol.

Good luck with your Urologist appt :) don't take no for an anwser keep pushing it and maybe even exaggerate your symptoms a bit...

I'm gonna practice my lines lol. Maybe even shed a tear.

Better yet, show them studies.

Nothing better than throwing a study into a GP's face that concludes at the complete opposite of what their opinion was... You're levels are low, mine were high 300's @ 19 and it has made a night and day difference to my life.

I brought over 100 pages of research with me with important parts highlighted with hundreds of studies and articles. I presented them to him and he went through them and told me that there is no way I can convince him that my levels are low and that he has been doing this for many years and he's right and i'm wrong. I was beyond frustrated. Really makes me wonder how much doctors really know about other things too...

Hahah this ^^^ love it.

I've ALWAYS found specialists to be 1000x better than GPs in terms of listening to you and keeping you in the loop with things. I've been to a urologist before.. Awesome dude.. Explained everything to me, what my options were etc... Let me decide what I wanted to do. Most GPs just care about writing off a prescription and gettin you out the door.

In essence he told you, "Run! Run as fast away from me as you can!".

Time to find a new doctor buddy ;)

I hope so. I have a pretty good idea for my protocol if i do go on trt so hopefully he will consider it. I wanna do it the right way so I can still have kids someday.

And that's exactly what i'm going to do lol. He clearly had no concern for my well being. I always thought doctors were the all knowing experts we expect them to be but this really opened my eyes.

Yeah when you start to break away from the pack of sheep aka normal people and open your mind to coming up with your own decisions not just the media/stereotypes you will realise you can diagnose yourself over the internet far better than most GP's and how very broad their knowledge is yet how little knowledge they have at the same time.

Ok update guys....thanks to Megatron for recommending IMT i contacted them and starting next week on trt. I know it is a big step and should not be taken lightly but I am ready to feel good again. I will not be using trt for muscle building purposes but if some extra muscle occurs i will not complain. I will be getting regular bloodwork and donating blood as needed. It is pricey for my particular budget but you cannot put a price on quality of life. Thank you for all your help! I am very excited to start loving life again.

also since i still have a urology apointment in just over a week, should i still go and tell them that I have been put on trt already and that it is working? and maybe ask them to prescribe it for me so my insurance will pay for it? is this a good idea?
