4 guys 4 strokes in Feb! Plz read!

See my supplement list in my cycle thread for more ideas on how to thin your blood. Also, googling foods that thin your blood will give you tons of info.

good post brother, i think guys seem to get lost in the boards and think if they do this and that they are fine and AAS are completley safe if they follow the rules.

We have to understand these are guidelines we are discussing here, they are not etched in stone.

AAS effect your cardiovascular system, period. some more than others, use wisely.

Nothing to really worry about yet IMO

Be sure you are not taking supps that contain Iron and take some steps to kep it from getting higher.

Thanks for chiming in guys, this is something we need to remind the guys of once in a while, especially the guys 35 and up.

just got mine done the other day. Hemoglobin was at 16.8 (17.0 being the high normal) and hematocrit was 48.1. Anything to be worried about?

^ Good point Zeek. I recently quit my multi-v due to the vitamin K, iron and metal content. Instead I'm taking a total-E supplement, advanced B complex and C complex (for the standard vitamins). I think my food intake has enough A, but I may add a good one.

Zeek first of all thanks for the heads up bro. This forum is LITERALLY A LIFE SAVER.

hey dude i plan on getting blood test done a couple weeks before i decide to cycle. i plan on using i need labs. (any opinions on them anyone?)

Hemoglobinopathy Profile - Also known as: Hemoglobin Electrophoresis plus Solubility. This test is used to diagnose thalassemias and hemoglobin variants (Is this the correct blood test to get?)

Male Hormone Panel - Basic includes: Prolactin, Sex Hormone Binding Globulin Serum, Testosterone Total Serum, and Prostate-Specific Ag Serum.

Comprehensive Wellness Profile: The Comprehensive Wellness Profile tests your liver, kidneys, cholesterol, thyroid, immune and cardiovascular systems. It also includes a PSA test for possible prostate malignancies. Test Includes: Glucose, BUN, Creatinine, BUN/Creatinine Ratio, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Total Carbon Dioxide, Calcium, Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin, A/G Ratio, Total Bilirubin, Alkaline Phosphatase, SGOT, SGPT, Lipid Panel (Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL, VLDL, LDL), Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) , Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA)

any other tests that I should get done while I'm at it? Is the last wellness profile test is that necessary? thanks guys:spin:

It is always better to be safe than sorry but at your age these problems are extremely rare.

Cool. Probly just going with the Hormone Panel and the hemo panel, does that sound like the correct test to you (posted in my previous post)?

I just had a wellness panel done about 6 weeks ago anyways at the health and wellness fair my office held. was told that i am in phenomenal shape by the nurses that took blood, bp, height weight etc and blood panels came back a ok with good hdl ldl levels, etc

did you get their phone number ;)

thanks for the info bro, a great heads up. do they test hemocrit/hemoglobin on the "standard" bloods? Only asking because I get a full medical once a year via my job..and we get a pretty big blood test as well...i'll see if i can dig up an old one.

Just a quick question
How many mg/day for aspirin as well as fish oil while on cycle
Is there a general recommendation?

They keep changing the dosage to take of aspirin for our purposes. Sometimes it is 81mg other times 150 and I've seen it as high as 325 for people who have pre existing problems.

I simply take 81mg per day along with about 12 fish oils.

Aspirin doesn't thin blood, though, it still may be of use.

Source?

Multi-vitamins are junk. 99% are poorly formulated and use ineffective forms of vitamins. WAY overrated and overhyped. Studies show it does not improve mortality rates and why take in excess vitamins when you may not even be deficient? The money would be better spent getting tested for actual deficiencies, if you even have any.

For which part of the statement? Aspirin doesn't thin your blood, it inhibits your platelets ability to aggregate or bind.

It is still beneficial for prevention of stroke or heart attack, and in patients with potential onset of MI we still have them chew up an aspirin.
