4 guys 4 strokes in Feb! Plz read!

They keep changing the dosage to take of aspirin for our purposes. Sometimes it is 81mg other times 150 and I've seen it as high as 325 for people who have pre existing problems.

I simply take 81mg per day along with about 12 fish oils.

yup.....i take an 81mg asprin/day and Twelve 1200mg Fish Oils/day,plus 1000mg of Naicin/day

This is common in men and women who don't eat much.

I don't think that has anything to do with it. It's a common side effect according to WebMD when I researched it. I was taking in 500-600 more calories than my maintenance. 3,000+ with 6 meals a day. That's a lot of eating. Still had it. Of course I was taking it 3 times a day.

Zeek how many MGs of Asprin do you reccomend to these guys?

There is no "recommendation" for aspirin on steroids. However, 81mg for a person in good health who has no history of MI or stroke should be more than enough. (81mg are "baby aspirin" sometimes marketed as "low dose 1 a day")

I am one of those guys who has let their RBC/Hemo get real high because I was too busy to go donate blood. I'm on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and it is recommended to donate every quarter. I didn't donate for over a year. I was feeling lethargic and i was getting winded very quick. The day I donated my RBC was 19. Donating blood really made me feel good especially the day after. I plan to go every 2 months until I can get my Hemo in a good range and once I achieve that, I will go every quarter for maintenance. Also every time you donate, they will give you your cholesterol and RBC numbers for free.

A baby aspirin is enough(81mg) and not so much that it will cause stomach issues. I believe it is important to take aspirin daily.

I'm glad you are getting on top of your situation riprock, it's serious business!

Aspirin doesn't thin blood, though, it still may be of use.

I would have to agree.. My RBC,Hemoglobin, and Hematocrit are just a bit high. Dehydration is the main cause for thick blood.

Blood clots is the main cause for strokes. If you blood clots too easily this is where aspirin and fish oil can help out.

Just because you have high RBC,Hemo, and Hema this does not mean your blood clots easily. There is another test (can't think of it) your doctor can order to check your clotting factors.

I had minor surgery about 5 months ago, but like I said my numbers were high. What happened? I had excessive bleeding. My blood was not clotting. The cause, I was a dumb ass and did not following my doctors orders. He specifically told me to stop taking aspirin, fish oils, and alcohol 2 weeks before surgery. As this affects your clotting. What did I do? Stop taking aspirin and fish oils a few days before surgery. Big mistake..

Like Zeek said, it's still a good idea to incorporate fish oils in your diet.

Low dose aspirin is OK if it does not cause stomach issues for you.

The only way to fix this is by donating blood. On regular cycles you should be ok, but anything beyond you need to donate to get these numbers down. I donate every 58 days and have blood checked.

Most times, a person having a stroke from gear has one ore more undiagnosed clotting disorders and no amount of fish oil or aspirin will prevent it. You have to donate blood to get rbc's down.

But you should also be taking supplements for bp and cholesterol. If not then stay away from gear. I take a lot of supplements all year long and more while on. High bp will ruin your kidneys.

I've posted this a number of times but this is my list if supps:

1 81mg aspirin
5-10g Fish oil
2400mg Red Yeast Rice
400mg CoQ10 (ubiquinone)
2100mg Hawthorne
500-750mg Niacin (not flush free)
2-3G Vit C
Vit D
B complex
5-HTP
PREGNENOLONE
DHEA
Green Tea Extract 600mg
Circummin
Milk Thistle 3-5g
NAC 1200-1800mg
R-ALA 1200 mg

That's all I can remember right now. I'm sure there is a few more. Sounds like a lot but it's really not. Lots of antioxidants, some for cholesterol, some for bp/cardiac health. My blood work almost always comes back great. Had high bp for a while but got it taken care of. These are things you do not want to mess with and need to get checked and keep in range.

this really does the trick?

edit: i mean it makes plenty of sense. that is very good to know thank you user!

If you stay on for long enough donating blood must become a part of your protocol for most of us.

I've known guys to do it themselves at home and that is always a horrible idea! A blod clot is no joke and will kill you quicker than you can blink.

That's the only way to lower rbi's, hematocrit, and hemoglobin. Supps can help a little but when it comes down to it, you have to get some of the blood out.

Clotting disorders normally start to show around 30's, and you can get checked to see if you have one. If not it's best to still take precautions but they typically play a role in strokes related to AAS use. You can get rbc, hemo, hemato tested fairly cheap.

You really want to keep bp under control even if that means taking meds. I will occasionally use Microzide if I can't control bp from diet and supps. And same with cholesterol, niacin works well.

These are really the major sides to AAS use that everyone should be concerned with, mores then acne and hairloss. I would not want those either but AAS can be used safely if you get labs and keep up with these things. You can get online and find supps cheap but keep in mind that certain ones are highly oxidative and have low absorption rates so check into what you are using.

ZEEK I've seen guys do this as well. Luckily I know a nurse who will take care of it for me if needed.

Also cialis is decent for controlling bp. 10mg a day will help. The problem is most research chems are not dosed accurately. You can find tabs online but it may take a little longer to get them. I'm not bashing research chems but most are under or overdosed. I tried 10mg of cialis from the pharmacy and it was very strong. That same dose of multiple research companies never come close.

You all should be online using google to find ways to control these things. There are plenty of medical sites and studies that you can look into.

ZEEK I think this is one of those subjects that people tend to overlook or just have no idea on what to look for. I've posted a million times about hemo/hemato when I realized mine was fairly high last year. I called DET and asked him what he thought, and I've been donating on a regular basis ever since, so thanks DET.

And let's not debate any ethical issues with donating, it's not harmful, it's a small amount of AAS that would be in the blood they take, and it will not still be active by the time someone receives it.

Also it's best to take aspirin at night before bed. It has a long half life and statistically, heart attacks and strokes happen in the morning to mid afternoon. So it's best to already have in your body and essay is correct on what it does.

With supps look for USP or NF which just means they follow a specific standard but many of these supplements have a low bioavailiability in the forms sold at stores. Don't spend money on any that say pharmacuetical grade, that's just a marketing ploy. If you read about the bioavailiability you will be able to find the best kinds to use.
