Any particular reasoning behind this?
I was under the impression that a slow(er), controlled, precise pressing motion would go in clean, straight, and smooth and help minimize the chance of scar tissue forming, etc.
I think a lot of people dart because they don't like pricking themselves and find it easier to do that way? That aspect is not an issue for me. And I have VERY steady hands.
Anyway, if I'm wrong and darting is the way to go from a clean wound and damage vs healing perspective then that would be good to know, but I've always thought people darted more out of fear of the stick than anything else.
I was very clean with my prep and everything. The swabbing, all that is on lockdown. I wear surgical gloves when I do it too but that's just me and i find it helps me grip and control the needle better with my big hands.
anyway, yeah let me know what your thoughts are on insertion and why you recommend the dart method, thanks for the response!
Slow is better in glute area as a precautionary pain will occur prior to sciatic nerve penetration.
