About to switch to injectable due to rotator cuff surgery.

I've learned a lot from this forum. I was hoping you guys could equip me with some valuable knowledge before I go to see my primary care physician. I'm currently doing two tubes of Testim per day with good results. I know that one shot per month is a bad idea and that once every two weeks is better but that once a week or even twice a week is ideal. How much should I ask for right off the bat is my main question. I have no idea what would be equivalent to two tubes of Testim per day. I'm going to put a full court press on my PCP to let me inject myself. I'm having rotator cuff surgery, bone spurs removed, my labrum repaired, my AC joint cleaned up, etc... I won't be able to apply testim or drive to my doc's office for quite a while. Any insight would be appreciated.

I'm a little nervous about all this, the surgery and switching to injectable. I've been doing really well on the Testim for a year or so, although at first it kind of sucked. Now I'm looking at a whole new modality. If you think taking an article or two for my PCP to read could help, please link them. I have a feeling he's going to want to err on the side of caution.

Update...

To my surprise, my doctor was receptive of the switch to injectable. He's also going to allow me to inject myself. He even seemed flexible about the amount. He left the prescription open, so I could work with a pharmacist he trusts to find the right amount. However, he was not familiar with Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) or Arimidex. I'm on my own there. My insurance is pretty good, so I guess I will have to see an endo for that.

My major concern is fertility. I'm 37 with no kids. I never really wanted any, but now I'm dating a younger girl who does. We're starting to get serious. It even crossed my mind to have some sperm frozen. I've been on Testim over a year. I may already be infertile.:(

Are you asking for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dosing or cycle dosing? I'm no fertility expert but I doubt a year of testim gel would make you infertile. A little
clomid & Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) will get the boys swimming again. Ask the endo when you see him or contact Chip. You'll be fine. Good luck with the surgery bro

I'm definitely asking for TRT

I've never done a cycle. I'm going to switch to injectable at least until my range of motion returns, which will allow me to switch back to the gel. If I like the injectable better, I will stay with it. As much as I hate needles, I the stickiness of gel is a drawback. I just want to find the equivalent of two tubes of Testim per day. I'm going to be injecting myself once a week. I don't want my levels to drop or skyrocket, so I hoped someone could guide me in the right direction. It seems like 100mg per week is pretty typical, so I guess I'll start with that. I just wish my doc would add the HCG. He said he didn't know anything about it and wouldn't be comfortable prescribing it, but could recommend an endo.

the injections will work better, no matter what. You will have to get use to it then it will become so much easier..

What all are you having done to youre shoulder. Hopefully not a chromioplasty and just rotator clean up.

Would HGH help in recovery of the shoulder stuff? I am scheduled for another (opposite shoulder) surgery myself and would like to speed up the recovery if possible.

I really don't know how bad my shoulder is.

The surgeon saw trauma to the rotator and labrum in the MRI. He is going to fix what he can during the surgery. All I know is...I hurt it a month ago, and it isn't any better.

a couple small holes in the shoulder then he will just trim up all the loose shit, it will hurt but you should come back quick if he doesnt find any other damage. The real bitch is if he has to cut/grind youre collar bone or sew up any tendons . Months of healing, about 12

He said I have two bone spurs.

I suspect there will be some cutting and grinding. I'm expecting to be out of commission for a while. I'm going to do a lot of swimming.
