All about the 3 heads on the triceps

Most of my tricep mass is on my long head or as others call it, the inner head (the one thats closest to our rib cages) This has been aquired by lots of skullcrushers, thats all ive done basically for 1 year, and I did some reserach and it seems that I the facts reflect the my results as I read that "skullcrushers hit the long/inner head mainly" so Im glad thats all sorted.

But what exercises specifically hit the lateral head, and what exercises specifcally hit the medial head?

Now once again I did some research, and it seems that overhand cable pressdowns seem to hit mainly the lateral head, and underhand cable pressdowns seem to hit mainly the medial head.

Questions

1.Is all of the above correct? As im pretty sure it is

2. What does tricep dips + close grip bench press mainly hit?

And please dont just come back with an answer like, do all of them, I really am looking for the scentific facts on which head comes more into play during which exercises

Many thanks guys

personally i beleive its all a bunch of bullshit

what function does the tricep perform?? answer it extends the elbow THAT IS IT...

there really is no way to isoalte one head or the other..perhaps your genetically gifted in that area..

bottom line just grow your triceps and let the chips fall where they may..you arent stepping on stage and some chica at the beach or club is not gonna say hey do some more laterla head work
:)

i agree with blackhead, you can;t isolate a certain tricep head. When you do your tricep extensions, your doing the tricep as a whole.

read muscle mag for this month with Arnold on the cover. He talks how he was able to isolate his workout on the 3 heads of the tricep. Arnold the Oak!

When you have 18-20 inch defined arms you can worry about this stuff, but until then you are pretty much doing yourself an injustice by using space in your head with this stuff. It gets you to question the basics, and when you start doing that you fail. Bascially why i was rediculously stagnant from 23-28. I read too much, by people not named Simmons, Tate, Wendler, and Pinder.

whos the last assclown you mentioned?????
:p

The inner part starts showing when the the triceps is already big enough. Watch begginers (specially ectos) and they always have a long outer triceps. I had it myself and after putting on 18 kgs I'm starting to see a inner triceps.

I agree with compound movements.

It never made sense to me how you could target one head of the tricep when the elbow only bends can only bend in one plane. If it were a ball and socket joint it would be a different matter.
