Boooooooooooooooooooobs.Laying down hamstring curls my favorite
For some reason the Smith feels easyer on my joints esp. my shoulders ..
I find the smith helpful for shoulder press and incline press but thats about it. I really still only use it once in a blue moon though. But smith machine for legs? Forget about it. It puts a crazy amount of pressure on my hips and knees.
Feel the same way. I tried copying one of fouad's workouts & he had a smith squat in there...never again
I'll do behind-the-neck press on smith, and sometimes incline/decline press (following a mountaindog program) but that's about it.
I even shrug with DBs now that they got 130/140/150s at the gym now...feels nicer than the smith smashing my nutsack
I go along with most all the posts on the Smith machine. WE need to remember that all the machines have a purpose and many times they are not for some, but cab be used by those same people to an advantage depending on the goal and their personal condition, This at any give interval of the program.
WE must remember that all the machines take away the need for most stabilizer muscles to get driven to work thus growth. Sometimes it is good to bench on the smith to get past a plateau because the secondary muscle are no in play with balance etc... SO we push that very HEAVY weigh to the max. One the primary muscle and the center point of that muscle becomes strong enough to push (move) that weight we go back to the free bench to tie in with strength and size all the connecting muscles.
Please don't jump on me if most of you already know what I said, some few don't.![]()
