anyone cut on starting strength (low volume)?

i know diet is most important when cutting, but i am curious if people cut on lower volume / heavy weight routines and how their recovery is

the ss template (give or take) is shown below. ill start to add cardio sessions in the AM on empty stomach, lift at lunch, maybe cardio in PM with the wife.

cardio = 20-40min (am-pm) of < 120bpm heart rate (low intensity)

bench 3x5
pullups 3x failure (which is about 5 with just bw)

squats 3x5
press 3x5
deads 1x5

squats 3x5
bench 3x5
chinups 3x failure

*note* bench and press alternates every week, so you bench x2 one week and x1 the next
