Anyone Else Prefer To Workout By Themselves?

No longer Cycles
Two of my friends are now trying to get in shape.
So I'm now making excuses to not workout with them.
I like listen to my music, and I love the focus and intensity. But it's all missing with them. At the same time I want to help them to get in shape. I'm a bad friend to have lol.
They go to our Uni gym, but I have 2 gym memberships, which makes it easy for me to workout alone.

Anyone else are like that?

I can go either way. I like having someone to workout with especially when pushing heavy but it sucks at the same time because they don't have the same goals and just basically go through the motions but at least they listen for the most part.it is nice to lift alone also because getting in the zone and staying there makes a huge fucking difference

hate it, having a training partner imo is one of the best tools a person can have.

They push you when you give up.

Its like taking another preworkout imo, and friendly competition is always fun

Training by myself is a preference. Most of my friends go there to have a laugh, socialize and talk about pointless shit and I end up getting nothing done. I just learnt to go myself and train hard myself. You tend to keep more in the zone mentally and focus just on yourself.

New people trying to get in shape arent allowed in our gym, so I just tell them their is nothing I can do. But they can pay me to train them for 20$ an hour 1 on 1. Usually when people are paying you, they try to get shit done.

Yes it would be great to workout with someone on your level or stronger. My Co-worker is one of them, I like to workout with him, but we rarely workout together, he gotta different gym membership. I know few people at my gym, we spot each other all the time. But when your routine is different, it makes it difficult to stay on track. They want to do whole body, when I prefer each muscle group a day.

Agreed but when you're the only one juicing, they don't have the same intensity so its one sided when it comes to them motivating you at least in my case. I just use my advantage as a tool to help them and myself which makes it better personally

It depends on the partner. My current... well somewhat current partner is more of a "gym buddy". It's nice having him there to spot me at times, but he's not really a motivator and he likes to talk a lot. Needless to say, I haven't really missed him the last couple weeks lol.

uhh... it'd be nice to have a fucking spotter sometimes... but at this point, i've come this far along alone i think i'll be fine for another few months...

If I could find someone as serious and as dedicated with the same goals hell yea. But so many lazy shits these days its hard to come by a trustworthy workout partner.

not when I am on cycle

Me and my brother were both benching around 255 for 1rep max
7 weeks later im benching 335 and hes only hitting about 265

so he doesnt wanna workout with me anymore...

I train one and prefer it that way. No distractions. The only two ppl allowed to workout with me are my cousin and brother. They match my intensity and know how to spot properly without touching the bar. But they're only around from time to time so it's me alone usually

I had a gym buddy I couldn't shake for a while. Just felt bad giving him the boot, bc he was such a nice guy, but not much use when it came time to really push. And even worse when I decided to cycle, he just got depressed seeing my lifts suddenly go through the roof!
He finally got laid and I haven't seen him since lol.

Ironically, while I've enjoyed just doing my thing alone, music blaring in my ears, I caught up with an old buddy and holy shit he blew the f up! We talked and turns out he's into AAS and in my mind makes a great gym/juice buddy haha. We're planning the next one together and some different workouts to try. Finally found someone that can keep up, or more likely kick my ass!

Always alone. Even when my brothers and I hit the gym together we all have different goals and work seperately (1 is into power lifting, other is just a pretty boy) but spot each other when needed. I tend to push myself harder without a spot because there is no one there to save your ass if you puss out.

I train 99% of the time with a partner. I do not train alone because i find I do not push myself hard enough when I am alone. When I have a good training partner I make the best gains and improve overall dramatically. Friendly competition is what does it. Constantly pushing each other to be better.

when I first started working out I did so by myself, and sometime found it a hassle looking for a spot somedays and finding someone who dosent linger around after your sets. when I moved home little bro started lifting and for his age is fairly strong. but I don't mind changing weights to back and forth if it means I have a reliable spotter and on a plus side I get to help little bro out and show him what works for me
