Back Pain after W/O?

Dlove

Product of Test
So as soon as I started seeing nice changes to my physique I worked my back and shoulders on Saturday and shit hit the fan. I didn't feel sore at all during my lifts. Immediately afterwards I took a hot bath like usual in Epson Salt but this time kicked on the jacuzzi jets. The next morning I could barely get out of bed. Since Saturday ive been walking like a hunch back the lower back pain is unfreakin bearable I cant take it. This town I live in sucks too they don't prescribe any pain meds. My workout was long and intense not gonna lye. I drank my new energy drink Speed Shot Intensity, it was intense alright I felt like I could train all day it's biting me in the ass now like you wouldn't believe.

This is killing me not being able to workout. I know I overtrained that day I don't even wanna tell you how much volume it was nuts. Lets just say DL's, BB Rows, Pulldowns, Arnolds shoulder triple superset which is machine press, upright rows, side laterals, DB Pullover and Biceps finished with Ab work.

Anyone else get this volting pain all threw-out the lower back? If so what did you do to help it out? Can it be from those jets in the bath-tub right after hard lifts?

I got this. The pain is in my left thigh. It was not after a workout. It has been a year. The doctors can not find any thing. Do you think I Got a micro-tear in a muscle?

Thanks in advance.

Dlove, I get periodic back pains and I've realized for myself sometimes it is from over working myself, sometimes I need to correct some techniques/form when lifting and other times I've realized that I am not balanced correctly and that while I've been working my back out that I have not given equal attention to my abs. I feel my abs are fairly solid and strong but the core is vital to work on. I honestly don't think it was from the jets in the bath tub.

Do you have access to a sports doctor? Or perhaps a physiotherapist?

Putski; I would suggest seeing a sports doctor as well.

While I'm not a fan of doctors I have come to realize that your general practitioner is not the person to go to. If I had taken my doctor's advise I would not be lifting or doing martial arts. I sought out a sports professional who had experience in this field and understood. I have had to see mine quite a few times with a few resulting in surgeries. I trust his advise when it comes to this stuff and he's always gotten me back to what I want to do.

The last time I had pain like you describe was after a relatively easy squat work out. Three days later I was getting emergency surgery for a ruptured disk (L5S1). I had been overtraining for a while. It took about 1 yr to recover and still suffer from chronic pain. No more squats, I hate that but it was my fault. Do not overtrain, it will get you sooner or later in some fashion. Train smart, be careful.

Luckily this pain went away after a week. DLC^ was right, you gotta do core work. Of course good form and not overtraining will prevent injury. Tightening up the abs and working the lower back is a big philosophy behind westside barbell training. Those guys I think we can agree know what their doing. Since that pain ive been doing a lot of core work and not only get stronger naturally for now but also refraining from injurys. On a side note strengthing up my forearms with simple BB wrist curls has helped my pressing exercises get much stronger too. I always try to cut corners in all aspects of life but the more I train the more I see you gotta cover all the bases to progress. DLC Rep point ur way.

Thanks DLove.

Your welcome bro, good point on Balance too. I just read what you wrote and a lot of guys are way off Balance lifting to the point it causes injury. I went a little to heavy the other day on the flat bench and got a little off balance because my bench isn't low enough to the ground here at the house, therefore I cant drive my feet in to give me more power i hate that Well it caused some minor lower back pain again, thank god it went away. Have you ever read the book BIG DLC? It's all about slow strict form one week then the next week some speed training the philosophy is to crazy shock the muscles and create a great range of motion which helps build muscle. Some people call it Ballistic training well point being is it keeps you pumped and feeling that nice burn instead of those volting pains.

No, I haven't read that but will Google it. I'm always interested in reading more. Even after 11 years I am still a newb. Knowledge is power and if I can take one small thing away from it that one small thing may turn big dividends. Thanks again.
