benedikt magnusson bad arse deadlift

nice post did you notice how long he held it at the top and how much control he had going down with the bar .

That clip took forever to download but was it worth it. That freakin kid is amazing. Man he was so pumped before that lift i love seeing shit like that. He looks like Gary Franks son.
How old is he?

It seems like no matter what anyone does here someone has something bad to say. I personally thought that was the most hardcore bad ass lift ive ever seen. Better than any Gene Rylchak. This kid is 21yrs. old, what were you guy's doing then.

Can anyone here pull 970lb's 2x in a row no rest, i doubt it. Suprise me.
Not to mention this kid is younger than Bolton and smaller. He doesn't even pull it sumo style.

Maybe im missing something here? What is a token lift? Im suprised to see a few people knocking him.

no one is knocking his lift dlove. 970 is an incredible lift. and what does sumo have to do with his pull. and when did he pull 970 back to back with no rest?

he weighs more than bolton as well. get your facts straight. plus bolton squatted 1146# and benched over 600 before he pulled. that makes a huge difference. perhaps if you ever do a full power meet youll know that. a token lift is when you take the least weight allowed by the meet directors. at this meet it was 130k (286#). so thats what his bench and squat were. when gary frank and bolton had the all time records theirs were done in a full power meet with no token lifts.

the only beef, and its competetive powerlifters, with his lift is the the fact that he did a 3 lift meet to break the record but took token lifts on squats and deads. no one is knocking his dead at all. everyone is impressed with it.

there are feds that have dead only divisions. wpo is not one of them.

its an outstanding deadlift
but i would encourage anyone to do a full meet and then see where your numbers stack up..you can do it in your gym with a buddy

it is extremely taxing mentally and physically..i can almost guarantee you cannot hit your max dead if you squat hevy and bench heavy first

So Bolton did his max bench and max squat before attempting his pull?

That is more impressive than the kid, now knowing that.

full power meets are always in this order
squat
bench
dead

you get 3 attempts at each-no one says you have to do all 3..dont forget to throw warm ups in there when youre squatting or pulling close to 1K it takes quite a bit longer to get warmed

plus putting on and taking off all that gear as well. and its a long ass day too. you may have several hours between your 1st squat and your last dead.
