you could always bye extra leg straps with the weights already on the straps!
for a while i was doing some outragous army style training.. n i put a 20kg cement bad in a backpack! not the best for running but! great for the legs squats etc .. i just kept it on for my whole work out but yeh some people will say no becuase it strains your back but as long as its secure on your back you shouldnt have a problem!
