Big Arms and relation to body mass .. whats ur guys take ????

I'm waiting on Halfwit to share his secret here. Actually seen him post once, recently that it comes with a lot of work, in his case anyways. Which my guess is that its the same for most. I've noticed for me personally that when I stick to a heavy lifting regimen for arms and everything else for that matter, eat right my arms grow the most. Consistent gains over time, again along with the rest of my body. I do agree, our bodies naturally tend to be proportionate.

I can't say I have a secret, but I do train arms twice a week and if the tendons don't hurt - I go as heavy as I can for a solid 8-10 reps at four sets for three exercises.

I think that there's a big difference in how our bodies grow too. I've noticed that there's two major "groups" of guys that take on this lifestyle; there's the classic ectomorphs (skinny guys that want to get bigger), and the endomorphs (fatter guys that want to stay bigger, but lean down). While I agree with many of my friends that AAS acts as a bridge between the two groups, allowing each to cross over into mesomorph territory - I do believe that there are some differences that make development for certain body parts more of a challenge than others.

For example, I was an ecto (I honestly do hate using these terms, but they're easy to visualize) that got picked on and became skinny-fat. I picked up powerlifting at 13 or so (if you can call it that at that age) and became more of a meso by my early 20's. Once I got hurt, went through low T, blah blah blah, I became one HELL of an endomorph.

Because of this transition, I have larger calves than most (walking around at 500+ lbs for years does that) and I still have quite the appetite. AFAIK I'm the only guy that throws 8 plates onto the calf machine BEFORE I do anything else because they're just so silly strong, I need to pre-exhaust them in order to progress on leg day.

Arms I think, aren't much different other than my height has given me a good case of body dysmorphia as I just can't seem to get them big enough while throwing up 95lb dumbbells for hammer curls. I'm not trying to show off by giving poundages, just to help paint the picture that I think we all have an idea in our minds as to what we look like, and don't trust the mirror or the tape. Based on the pics many of you fine gents have up, I can assure you that none of you are lacking - it's just a matter of how we perceive ourselves.

I hope that rambling makes sense, as I'm still shaky from my least favorite day in the gym - leg day. (not afraid to admit it either! :p)

i have no idea what you're talking about lol. you get big arms by just working them out a lot bro simple as that... or if you're just born with sick arm genetics. my boy has huge arms and hardly ever even trains them directly.

my arms aren't [weren't] small according to the numbers but my proportions made them look small.
i have long arms, long legs, a short torso and broad shoulders. oh and add a thick ribcage to that. you know what thats a recipe for? small looking arms.

Halfwit , i hear all you say ! The way we perceive ourselves is huge . Its something thats always has confused me .
