big ass a bad thing?

i'm going to play football in college and i'm wodering if there is any disadvantage to having an overdeveloped ass. on my lower body days i've been doing alot of single leg movements, like spit squats, step ups, lunges, etc. the reason i'm doing this is because the trainer Joe Defranco, who trains many athletes for the nfl, recommends that athletes should do more single leg movements as accessory work. anyway, i always notice my ass is just as sore as my legs the day after, if not more so. i already have a huge ass and don't want it to to get any bigger if its going to hold me back on the field. By the way, my stats are, 6'2" 245. bf?'

i would appreciate any advice from anybody.

more cushion for the pushin  .. hmmm ... i dno't htink that applies to this situation though :p ...

i think having better ass muscles will benefit you, what position are you looking to play first off...

For strength overdeveloped glutes are great, I do heavy squats and deadlifts and the result has been big legs and a huge bubble butt-the real negative is that pants and shorts are difficult to fit into.

What position are you? If you were any type of lineman than I'd say it's a good thing. The bigger you are for those positions the better off you are (usually). If you're a receiver or a DB or something then it's prob not the greatest thing.

thanx for all the replys guys. just so everyone knows, i'm playing defensive end. i've had a line couch tell me once the most important muscle in football for a line man is their ass. i guess he was right.
