Bogus Protein Label Claims from IDS

well it looks like the original poster in that thread is a phony..come on a pro bb with 2 posts!!! someone posted the same test on elite a few weeks ago..seems to me like someone is trying to slam IDS..but having said that i probably wont buy any of their stuff!!

From what I know the FDA does not test or have any jurisdiction in the supp companies. I believe that false claims and dangerous products though for some reasoning can be taken off the shelf.

Hence ephedra.

i thought suppliments where controled, i mean they have to be what they say on the label

The supplement industry is not really regulated. If it is earmarked as a food or they make drug-like claims then the FDA has some say. This is why companies will say things like "results are not normal" or so on, because if they make drug-like claims on a label then the FDA can step in, pull it off the shelves, and run their testing which will remove it from the market likely for years.

Or of course, if the supplement proves to be dangerous, like L-Tryptophan was when a bad batch killed some people (its just an amino acid).

Food and Drug Administration = FDA, not FDSA ;)

I just thought you but from a company with a store like GNC and you get what the label says? You pay a price but...

I'll stick with my ON!!

BTW - the FTC can pull sups if they are making false claims and such. A supplement can hint towards giving you a certain goal, but they cannot claim it in certain ways.
The FDA can step in when it hurts people.

That is precisely why i eat lean protein from natural sources every 2 or 3 hours....chicken, tuna, beef, eggs, milk, yogurt, beans w/ brown rice, turkey, cottage cheese, etc. Cant go wrong with Mother Nature and animal flesh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
