breakfast sandwhich (healthy)

most breakfast sandwhichs are heart stoppers breakfast of champions. is there a way to make a healthy one say some turkey bacon, lowfat cheese (american slendor) and egg whites on a bagel or wheat bread and still get high calories but more protein and not so much negatives like cholesterol and empty calories ?

Why do you say cholesterol is negative? I don't think there's any real evidence to show that cholesterol is bad. Not to mention most of the healthiest foods contain a good amount of cholesterol (egg yolks, liver, oysters, etc).

Speaking of empty calories, egg whites are a good example of this. They do have nutrients, but the egg yolk is where all the real nutrient content is.

I'm still not sure why you insist on low fat. Why do you?

If you are predisposed to clogged arteries, cancer diabetes etc understand this frosty that alot of the bullshit you advocate is very unwise for people who have this in thier backgrounds.

I can tell you right now being aorund the gyms etc for many years that people respond to eating plans differently, ie I have seen some people where health and performance have improve with high fat meat based diets and others who respond better health and performance wise as vegetarians(there are sucessful veggie lifters out htere you know)

How do I know this? because I talk to them I listened to them, I have been friends with thier trainers I have socialized with them and heard thier stories pro and con and what they have talked about with regards to thier health and what they did and what worked and what didnt.

What have you done? You read the book metabolic diet and looked at some studies posted online without readint the 1000's of other studies and books that agree with your statements and disagree with them.

Maybe you need to get out of the house and look at what works in the real world instead of what works in a lab or online setting.

Egg whites contain little nutrients while egg yolks contain a LOT of nutrients. They're GOOD for you. What don't you understand? Why is this so difficult for people to understand?? Eggs contain EPA, DHA, lots of nutrients (including fat soluable ones that you people seem to not give a shit about).

If you think recommending that someone eat whole eggs is a bad or dangerous idea, then sorry, you're an idiot.

And frankly I dont have the time, patience nor desire to hunt down studies that refute your claims. If I am going to spend time reading something that has to do with studies and is long ass, overdrawn and uses big words I will read about business and finance, not about the stupid inane fucking difference between the protein quality of eggs, egg whites or fucking whey for that matter because in the end I still have to eat clean quality foods several times a day and ride the line between too many or too few of the macros to achieve what I want and function in everyday life.

Just because something is good or bad doesnt mean I am going to eat/drink it to excess either..

Lastly I talk in lay terms with everyone and just say things how I see them, and far as I see you hijack threads with the same horsehit over and over.

My conclusion: your an obsessive compulsive and need to get out more and relax a bit. Life is too short and you are going to give yourself an ulcer worrying about such minute details in life.

Yolks=good and bad cholesterol and fat and quality protein. usually ejected by people trying to cut down on fats in thier diets or by trying to keep fats lower on overall dietary intake while increasing protein intake

I would like to see hwere I am obsessive about fat or cholesterol, I am not actually. I eat to live, I eat to function and I eat to enjoy as well.

But that doesnt mean I am going to go out of my way to injest fats,or protein or carbs for that matter over long periods of time because then I feel like shit etc.

If you're trying to cut back on fats, egg yolks should be one of the LAST on your list to cut out since they're so good for you. Cut out beef fat, milk fat, whatever....but egg yolks are the last to go.

If 3 yolks, or 15g of fat is too much for you, then you're beeing far too obsessive over reducing fat. If you're trying to reduce fat THAT much, then are you also not eating oatmeal because it's 17% calories from fat? That's too fattening! I won't eat chicken breasts either cause they're over 20% fat, and that's too fattening! Egg whites, fat free protein powder, and rice....real healthy.

There are ways to cut back on fat, but again, cutting out healthy egg yolks should be LAST on the list.

Besides, mass rookie is bulking. Are you saying egg yolks are too "fattening" while bulking??

it has nothing to do with whether you should have eggs lettuce, bananas or monkey semen in your sandwich

Milhouse, I've been trying to help Mass rookie for a long time. That's why I posted like I did. He was asking for help, and I'm still trying to help him. I gave him some recommendations through PMs.

If someone posts a question, that means I can't give my say? He didn't say "Frosty, I'm not interested in what you have to say on this." In fact it was quite the opposite since he PMed me.
 
To answer the original question.......

There are many things if you take the intiative to do that would be waaaaaayyyyyyy healthier for you than grabbing a quick to go breakfast sandwich, Mass.

Depending on your diet goals right now here are a few things I do...

Scrambled eggs on wheat tosst sammie. Throw in some tomatoe or salsa whatever you want. If you don't have time to scramble them on the stove top then nuke 'em. There is NOTHING wrong with eggwhites only. I swear Frosty pulls it out his ass sometimes. If you're going for low fat go for the egg whites. The yolk tastes really good though so maybe throw one in there. I do the whole egg. Hey. Whatever is working for you. We're all different. I wouldn't do the bagel thing though. That's really simple starch. May be more satisfying at the time but you'll be starving an hour later.

If you're doing low fat go for the turkey bacon. That's nukeable as well if you're in a hurry.

As far as cheese......Now I LOVE CHEESE!!! Depends on what you're overall diet looks like and what you're trying to accomplish. You Do have to have some fat in your diet to burn fat. That being a given....if you want to opt for the low fat stuff go for it. Please be sure you're supplementing with some good quality fats though ie: flax or cod liver oil. I'll stick with mah cheese! :) We all need something to keep us from squeaking right? ;)

I love that you're taking an initiative and looking for healthier ways to eat. Good for you.
