i just came back to playing basketball from a year of not doing any exercise. i've been dieting for two weeks now, shedding some pounds and trying to become lean again, i guess losing 10lbs. would be enough, but my problem is that come basketball practice i always get calf cramps, i've been running for quite sometime now so that my legs would get used to the physical activity but still i get cramps. i'm thinking i need to add sodium chloride to my drink every practice, is it okay to add sodium chloride to gatorade?

It's an amino acid and should be available at most supplement stores or on-line retailers.
