Why does it take so Long to collect State Disability? Been off for 2 weeks now, Dr, took me off work for 8 weeks pending recovery so I mite get more time off after that... My dr, sent out all the proper paper work 2 weeks ago and barely got a responce of how much Im entitled to on a weekly basis, then I have to wait another 2 more weeks from today to determine if im even eligible? Im a little baffled on how it works never been had to it but since I pay into it and im off work I have bills and what not, Its ridiulous cause I get no response via phone or mail?


Does the process normaly take this long?

A friend of mine had to wait a long time to get on disability, the bonus was she was back paid from the day of her initial application. Took her 3 months to get it.

^^^ holly crap thats a long time ill go broke if i dont start collecting in 2 weeks... Ive heard from ppl when you go out on medical for disabilty usually eta is 3 weeks... Im hoping ill start collecting soon. They already sent me a computation letter of how much im entitled to which isnt crap but its better than nothing you kno?

I think she had some issues that slowed her down like not providing all the info they needed etc. Sounds like you are about to get a check.
