Ok so yesterday in the gym i saw this guy with great calves ( no homo) and i asked him how he trained them and he said he trains them 3-4 times per week?? when i asked if that was over training he said you basically cant overtrain calves and forearms because you use them so much everyday they are resistent to normal training or some shit like that.. is this true? should i up my calf workout?

Well, I think the term overtraining is thrown around way too much to begin with but thats a different story.

That being said, if you have weak calves you can train them 2-3 times a week to bring them up.

My uncle is 52 now, but when he was in his 20's he got his was a professional BB, I was talking to him about it, he said that in order for him to get his calves, forearms, and back to grow he basically had to kick the shit out of them and do tons of volume for the same reason you said, that forearms and calves are constantly being worked in everyday activities so takes much more to get them to grow

I train mine 3-4 times a week, and they respond very well. From my experience, over training calves and forearms is a myth.

So what if you train calves and they are sore for the next 4 days, do you still train them even though they are sore or wait?

So one person says 'yes' and another says 'no.'

I see rui has igf-1. Now would spot injection into the calf be beneficial? Or just a waste?

I have just actually started training my calves every other day. I have been brutalizing them wether they are sore or not. I could barely walk today and hit them hard again tonight. I have tried EVERYTHING else for my calves with no progress. Lets see if this works.

If they are sore they are not recovered and training them again will break them down further. If they are still sore give them another day and you will see much better growth.

I am at the point now where I have tried everything with no response. I will run this style training for a few weeks and see if I yield any results.
