Can someone still get big if they work construction?

im very active now. i do construction, whatever it is, digging trenches, running out picking up debri, tossing things like logs from trees, ho-ing weeds, etc. it keeps me lean, but what about size? ive never bulked or taken juice while having this kind of job. i know pro bb'ers dont do shit but just train and eat, but i dont have that kind of cash to not work. so, i was wondering, does it hinder that much? just eat more food like a little extra carbs, right?

Well granted you are getting tons of exersise when you work it is not the same as a strengh/size training program so you will not get big as if you were working out at the gym with weights. I would count your job as more of a cardio (even though its not cardio per say) as its not a strengh building program you would do at a gym

Well I do the same thing.I have gained close to 100lbs in three years. Its really good cause we take regular breaks 930 lunch and 200 which makes for regulart feeding times.I eat five meals a day.

I used to get my ass kicked doing warehouse work. For me, multiple hot showers and lots of sleep.

I had one day where I had to unload, scan, and prep a 48 foot truck full of merchandise by myself, I got it finished in 8 hours straight with zero breaks other than finishing my 2 liter bottle of 7UP in friggin an hour. I had to run like a mother to get that done, so while not construction, I worked hard. I also was in charge of the furniture section of the warehouse, stacking up the 280 pound entertainment centers galore, up to about 6 1/2 feet high :)

wouldnt it depend on your metabolism also? I know if I ever work construction i would lose 50lbs and get back down to my normal weight of 115lbs instead of my 195lbs (on gear). I know to get up to those weights I had to not do shit except for eat, sleep, work (desk job), and eat out a lot at fast food.

bosshog, of course i still train with weights, i was just asking if working hard would hinder my gains by that much? actually the construction type work makes you stronger, so does weight training.

You are going to have to compensate for the amount of calories you burn every day with extra food. If you keep cals over the maintenance+ the amount burned every day, you will get bigger.

I was going to say the same thing, you just need to eat more to compensate for the calories. Also, since you are already putting your body through a lot of stress on the job, I would keep your workouts short and intense or you'll end up overtraining

I'm a roofer and weigh around 240, the key is to eat as much as possible throughout the day. Hard boiled eggs, microwaved chicken breast, cans of tuna, and microwaved potatoes come in handy and are easy to eat quickly. I too eat aroung 7-8 times everyday and don't forget about water, I finish my 5 gal. everyday.

You must have some clear ass skin, those electrolyte levels might be a little scary though, hmm.

its not preparing the food, i can always do that in the eve when im free for 8 hours, i was just wondering if i can still grow well if i juice and eat more food. im also trying to lean out as i put on lean tissue, not just bulk and get fatter.

i am a union electrican. eat every 2 hours. good clean food. lots of protein. after work i hit the gym and do some real llifting. there isn't any reason why you shouldn't be able to using gear, eat and lifting after your work day is over.
